Türk Telekom Turkey SIM card: the prepaid Tourist SIM packs and prices

Türk Telekom is the one Turkish operator we found with a dedicated English page for visitors. We read its Tourist SIM packs on 8 October 2026: prices, validity and gaps.

Is a Türk Telekom Turkey SIM card a good choice for a visitor?

On the evidence of its own site, it is the most visitor-ready of the three Turkish operators we checked. Türk Telekom's menu includes a "Tourist SIM Türkiye" page in English, with fixed packs and prices, and a plain buying route. A Türk Telekom Turkey SIM card suits a stay of a week to a month where you want a local number. We could not confirm anything about registration, which matters in Turkey, so ask at the counter.

What are the Welcome tourist packs?

From Türk Telekom's prepaid Tourist SIM page, read 8 October 2026, prices in Turkish lira as listed:

The three larger packs include a week of unlimited social media. The packs are one-time and do not renew. Extra minutes and SMS are billed at the current tariff, and extra mobile data at 2 kuruş per 100 KB. Lira prices move, so read the page before you buy.

Where do you buy it and how do you add a pack?

The page says to get the SIM from a Türk Telekom dealer at the airport or from a Türk Telekom store. You pick a pack at activation or buy one later by sending its keyword to 5555. The published keywords appear to have a typo, so check them before you send. Setup videos are linked in English, German, Arabic, Persian, Ukrainian and Russian.

What does Türk Telekom not say?

It does not mention a passport requirement or any registration step, and it does not say whether an eSIM is offered to visitors, though the site has a general eSIM page. Take your passport to the counter and ask.

What does Türk Telekom say about coverage?

The page says service is offered in all 81 provinces and refers to a 2021 Opensignal result for gaming, video and audio app experience. That report is old, so we do not rely on it. We read no 5G claim.

Türk Telekom Turkey SIM card or a travel eSIM?

A travel eSIM is bought before you fly and avoids an airport queue. A local SIM can be cheaper per gigabyte for 25 GB or more. Compare in our Turkey SIM comparison. Other operators: Turkcell and Vodafone Turkey.
