eSIM El Salvador: seventeen Airalo plans, and the 20 GB ones are the cheapest gigabyte
Seventeen Airalo plans read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026. The rate runs from $2.40 a gigabyte at 20 GB down to $5.50 at 1 GB, and every plan carries the same product name, Chivo.
What does an eSIM El Salvador plan cost?
All the figures here come from Airalo, and only from Airalo. Seventeen plans, each read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026, in US dollars. We have priced no other seller for El Salvador: not Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go. Treat this as one company's price list rather than a survey of the market. This page is desk research from public sources; we did not install or test any of these plans. Eleven are metered and six are uncapped.
The cheapest gigabyte is $2.40, from the 20 GB plan over 15 days at $48. The dearest is $5.50, from 1 GB over 3 days. That is a 2.3-fold spread inside one seller's list. Our data names the product Chivo for every row and gives no host network, so we cannot tell you which Salvadoran carrier the plans use.

Which size should you buy?
The 10 GB band sits between $3.30 to $3.40 a gigabyte, and the 20 GB band between $2.40 to $2.45. Going from 5 GB to 10 GB over 7 days costs $10 more ($23 to $33) and doubles the data, which is the best step-up on the list. The top step, from 10 GB to 20 GB over 15 days, costs $14.50 more.
Duration is nearly free. The 20 GB plan is $48 for 15 days and $49 for 30. That is $1 for fifteen extra days, so there is no reason to pick the shorter window unless the price difference matters to you. The same pattern holds at 10 GB: $33, $33.50 and $34.
There is no 50 GB plan in our El Salvador data. The largest metered plan is 20 GB, and that is where the floor sits.
Is the uncapped plan worth it?
Hardly. A 3-day uncapped plan is $19, against $14 for 3 GB over the same days. The 30-day uncapped plan is $99, the dearest plan in our El Salvador data and more than double the $49 20 GB month. Unless you stream video on mobile data all day, 20 GB is the better buy.
What to buy, by trip length
A weekend. 3 GB over 3 days at $14, or 1 GB at $5.50 if you only need maps and messages.
A week. 10 GB over 7 days at $33.
Two weeks or more. 20 GB over 15 days at $48, or 20 GB over 30 days at $49 if you want slack.
What we could not verify about a local SIM
We did not find an official carrier or regulator page we could read today for El Salvador, so we say nothing about local SIM prices, registration rules or which networks support eSIM. Reseller blogs offer plenty of claims, and at least two of them contradict each other on whether a passport is needed. If you plan to buy locally, check the carrier's own site first.
If you are shopping for a cheap eSIM for El Salvador, start with the rate per gigabyte rather than the headline price. A El Salvador eSIM is only good value once you know how much data you will use, and a El Salvador travel SIM from any seller should be compared on the same terms. Think of this as one El Salvador data plan list to check against others, not the last word.
For the seller across every country we hold, see our Airalo page. For how this rate compares with the rest of the site, see the cheapest eSIM plans and the provider comparison, and for the wider region see the Latin America guide.
Common questions
Which eSIM El Salvador plan is the cheapest?
The 20 GB plan over 15 days at $48, which is $2.40 a gigabyte, from Airalo's Chivo range. That is the lowest rate across the seventeen Airalo plans we verified on 8 October 2026. We hold no prices for any other seller in El Salvador, so we cannot say it is the cheapest overall.
How much is a week of data in El Salvador?
Airalo's 10 GB plan over 7 days costs $33, or $3.30 a gigabyte, and the 3 GB week is $15. An uncapped week is $35. These are the prices we read on 8 October 2026 and they can change, so check the Airalo page before you buy.
Is 20 GB for 30 days better than 20 GB for 15 days?
Only slightly dearer. The 15-day plan is $48 and the 30-day plan is $49, so fifteen extra days cost $1. If your trip is close to the 15-day mark, the 30-day plan gives you a safety margin for almost nothing. These are Airalo prices only, read on 8 October 2026.
Does El Salvador have a 50 GB eSIM plan?
Not in our Airalo data. The largest metered plan is 20 GB, in 15-day and 30-day versions. The only plans without a gigabyte cap are the uncapped ones, which run from $19 for 3 days to $99 for 30 days. These are Airalo prices only, read on 8 October 2026.
Which network do these El Salvador plans use?
Airalo's data does not name a host network for any of the seventeen rows, and we did not find it stated in a source we could read. We will not guess from the product name. If network coverage matters to you, ask Airalo support before buying.
