Airalo's Montenegro list as read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026: 18 plans, from $4 to $89, with the best rate $0.98 a gigabyte.

eSIM Montenegro: what does it cost?

The cheapest gigabyte we hold for Montenegro is $0.98, from the 50 GB over 30 days at $49. This page covers 18 plans from Airalo, read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026. We have priced only Airalo here. We have not priced Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go for Montenegro, so this is one seller's list and not a ranking of the market, and we make no claim about the best Montenegro eSIM across sellers.

If you searched for eSIM Montenegro, the practical answer is that Airalo sells its Montenegro plans under the name Jezero, which is Airalo's own retail label. Airalo's Montenegro page, which we read on 8 October 2026, names MTEL as the primary network the eSIM uses. Our price file leaves its network field empty, so that label comes from the live page and not from our data. The dearest metered rate is $4 a gigabyte (1 GB over 3 days at $4), a 4.1-fold gap inside the same list.

Which eSIM Montenegro plan size should you buy?

By size, the metered plans work out as follows. 1 GB: $4 for 3 days ($4 a gigabyte). 3 GB: $8 for 3 days up to $9 for 7 days ($2.67 to $3 a gigabyte). 5 GB: $12 for 7 days up to $13 for 30 days ($2.40 to $2.60 a gigabyte). 10 GB: $20.50 for 7 days up to $22 for 30 days ($2.05 to $2.20 a gigabyte). 20 GB: $34 for 15 days up to $35 for 30 days ($1.70 to $1.75 a gigabyte). 50 GB: $49 for 30 days ($0.98 a gigabyte).

The largest metered plan we hold is 50 GB. It carries the best rate in the list, so the usual rule of buying the biggest plan you will use applies. The cost of that is a higher ticket price: the smallest plan is $4, the largest $49. The 1 GB plan over 3 days at $4 is the entry point, and at $4 a gigabyte it is the dearest rate in the list. Compare the same size across its different windows before you pick, since the price moves with the number of days.

Unlimited plans: $18.50 for 3 days, $27.50 for 5 days, $33.50 for 7 days, $37 for 10 days, $49 for 15 days, $89 for 30 days. The longest, 30 days, is $89. Compare it with the metered plans above before choosing, since Montenegro unlimited costs several times a large metered plan for the same trip. Airalo's pages do not say here whether an unlimited plan has a fair-use limit, and neither do we.

Is an eSIM worth it for Montenegro, or should you use roaming or a local SIM?

We cannot answer that with numbers, because we have not priced roaming from any home carrier and we have not researched local SIMs in Montenegro: no prices, no registration rules, no shop locations. What the data supports is narrower. A Montenegro travel SIM from Airalo, which is a cheap eSIM for Montenegro only if the numbers above suit your trip, can be bought and installed before you leave, and the cost of a Montenegro data plan is known to the cent from the list above. Whether it beats your carrier's roaming day pass is something you can check in a minute by comparing that day pass with the plan that matches your trip length.

What to know before you buy a Montenegro eSIM

The checks that apply to any Airalo plan apply to an eSIM Montenegro purchase too. Confirm that your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked, install the eSIM over a working internet connection, and turn it on and select it for data once you are in Montenegro. Airalo's page says the eSIM works only inside its coverage area. It states no further requirement for Montenegro, and we have not found a registration or passport rule that applies to the eSIM, so we make no claim either way.

For how Montenegro compares with other places, see the cheapest eSIM plans, the provider comparison and the Europe guide. Prices are those on 8 October 2026; Airalo changes them, so re-check at checkout.

Common questions

What is the cheapest eSIM for Montenegro?

The 50 GB over 30 days at $49 plan at $49, which is $0.98 a gigabyte, verified on 8 October 2026 on Airalo. We have priced only Airalo for Montenegro, not Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go, so another seller may be cheaper. Treat it as the floor of one seller's list.

Which network does the Montenegro eSIM from Airalo use?

Airalo's Montenegro page, read on 8 October 2026, names MTEL as the primary network. Our price file has no network field filled in, so this comes from the live page only. We have not tested coverage in Montenegro ourselves, and Airalo's page gives no coverage detail beyond that label, so check coverage for the places you will visit.

How many Montenegro eSIM plans does Airalo sell?

We hold 18 plans for Montenegro, all under Airalo's Jezero label, read on 8 October 2026. They run from $4 to $89. Airalo may add or drop plans, and we have not priced any other seller for {name}, so check the live Airalo page before you buy and treat this count as a snapshot.

Is there a Montenegro eSIM with unlimited data?

Yes, Airalo lists unlimited Montenegro plans of 3 days at $18.50, 5 days at $27.50, 7 days at $33.50, 10 days at $37, 15 days at $49, 30 days at $89, checked 8 October 2026. They cost far more than the metered plans for similar trip lengths, and Airalo's pages do not say here whether a fair-use limit applies.

Which Montenegro data plan size gives the lowest price per gigabyte?

The largest metered plan we hold, 50 GB, has the lowest rate at $0.98 a gigabyte, while the dearest is $4. Bigger costs more up front, so only buy it if you will use the data within its 30 days. We priced Airalo only, so this says nothing about other sellers' rates.
