Rwanda eSIM: 14 plans on Airalo, from $4.10 a gigabyte

Airalo's Rwanda list as read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026: 14 plans, from $7 to $99, with the best rate $4.10 a gigabyte.

eSIM Rwanda: what does it cost?

The cheapest gigabyte we hold for Rwanda is $4.10, from the 10 GB over 7 days at $41. This page covers 14 plans from Airalo, read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026. We have priced only Airalo here. We have not priced Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go for Rwanda, so this is one seller's list and not a ranking of the market, and we make no claim about the best Rwanda eSIM across sellers.

If you searched for eSIM Rwanda, the practical answer is that Airalo sells its Rwanda plans under the name Peace Mobile, which is Airalo's own retail label. Airalo's Rwanda page, which we read on 8 October 2026, names Tigo Rwanda as the primary network the eSIM uses. Our price file leaves its network field empty, so that label comes from the live page and not from our data. The dearest metered rate is $7 a gigabyte (1 GB over 3 days at $7), a 1.7-fold gap inside the same list.

Which eSIM Rwanda plan size should you buy?

By size, the metered plans work out as follows. 1 GB: $7 for 3 days ($7 a gigabyte). 3 GB: $17 for 3 days up to $18 for 7 days ($5.67 to $6 a gigabyte). 5 GB: $26 for 7 days up to $28 for 30 days ($5.20 to $5.60 a gigabyte). 10 GB: $41 for 7 days up to $43 for 30 days ($4.10 to $4.30 a gigabyte).

The largest metered plan we hold is 10 GB. It carries the best rate in the list, so the usual rule of buying the biggest plan you will use applies. The cost of that is a higher ticket price: the smallest plan is $7, the largest $43. The 1 GB plan over 3 days at $7 is the entry point, and at $7 a gigabyte it is the dearest rate in the list. Compare the same size across its different windows before you pick, since the price moves with the number of days.

Unlimited plans: $32.50 for 3 days, $43.50 for 5 days, $53.50 for 7 days, $79 for 10 days, $99 for 15 days. The longest, 15 days, is $99. Compare it with the metered plans above before choosing, since Rwanda unlimited costs several times a large metered plan for the same trip. Airalo's pages do not say here whether an unlimited plan has a fair-use limit, and neither do we.

Is an eSIM worth it for Rwanda, or should you use roaming or a local SIM?

We cannot answer that with numbers, because we have not priced roaming from any home carrier and we have not researched local SIMs in Rwanda: no prices, no registration rules, no shop locations. What the data supports is narrower. A Rwanda travel SIM from Airalo, which is a cheap eSIM for Rwanda only if the numbers above suit your trip, can be bought and installed before you leave, and the cost of a Rwanda data plan is known to the cent from the list above. Whether it beats your carrier's roaming day pass is something you can check in a minute by comparing that day pass with the plan that matches your trip length.

What to know before you buy a Rwanda eSIM

The checks that apply to any Airalo plan apply to an eSIM Rwanda purchase too. Confirm that your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked, install the eSIM over a working internet connection, and turn it on and select it for data once you are in Rwanda. Airalo's page says the eSIM works only inside its coverage area. It states no further requirement for Rwanda, and we have not found a registration or passport rule that applies to the eSIM, so we make no claim either way. Separately, MTN Rwanda's own site, which we read on 8 October 2026, advertises an eSIM upgrade and tells customers to dial *#06# to check for an eSIM ID. It says nothing on that page about SIM registration or ID rules, so we do not either.

For how Rwanda compares with other places, see the cheapest eSIM plans, the provider comparison and the Africa guide. Prices are those on 8 October 2026; Airalo changes them, so re-check at checkout.

Common questions

What is the cheapest eSIM for Rwanda?

The 10 GB over 7 days at $41 plan at $41, which is $4.10 a gigabyte, verified on 8 October 2026 on Airalo. We have priced only Airalo for Rwanda, not Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go, so another seller may be cheaper. Treat it as the floor of one seller's list.

Which network does the Rwanda eSIM from Airalo use?

Airalo's Rwanda page, read on 8 October 2026, names Tigo Rwanda as the primary network. Our price file has no network field filled in, so this comes from the live page only. We have not tested coverage in Rwanda ourselves, and Airalo's page gives no coverage detail beyond that label, so check coverage for the places you will visit.

How many Rwanda eSIM plans does Airalo sell?

We hold 14 plans for Rwanda, all under Airalo's Peace Mobile label, read on 8 October 2026. They run from $7 to $99. Airalo may add or drop plans, and we have not priced any other seller for {name}, so check the live Airalo page before you buy and treat this count as a snapshot.

Is there a Rwanda eSIM with unlimited data?

Yes, Airalo lists unlimited Rwanda plans of 3 days at $32.50, 5 days at $43.50, 7 days at $53.50, 10 days at $79, 15 days at $99, checked 8 October 2026. They cost far more than the metered plans for similar trip lengths, and Airalo's pages do not say here whether a fair-use limit applies.

Which Rwanda data plan size gives the lowest price per gigabyte?

The largest metered plan we hold, 10 GB, has the lowest rate at $4.10 a gigabyte, while the dearest is $7. Bigger costs more up front, so only buy it if you will use the data within its 7 days. We priced Airalo only, so this says nothing about other sellers' rates.
