Peru's cheapest verified gigabyte costs $2.85, and the ladder stops at 20 GB

Every price on this page comes from Airalo. Seventeen plans, each one read off airalo.com on 17 August 2026. That is the entire extent of our Peru data.

Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard and eSIM Go are all in the travel eSIM business and some of them list Peru. We have not priced any of them here yet, so nothing on this page is a comparison between sellers, and you should not read it as one. It is a single ladder, checked rung by rung, on a single day. That is worth more than a ranking assembled from figures nobody looked at, which is what this site used to publish.

$2.85 a gigabyte, and why that number is bad news

The lowest rate in the Peru data is the 20 GB plan over 15 days at $57 — $2.85 a gigabyte. Nothing on the list goes below it.

Against the rest of the site, that is steep. Thailand's verified floor is $0.55 a gigabyte and Austria's is $0.58, both read the same way off a checkout. A traveller in Lima is paying more than five times a Bangkok rate for the identical thing, from the identical company, in the same week. Argentina, at $2.35, held the highest floor of any country on the site before this round of checks. Peru is above it.

The honest framing is this: there is no cheap way to buy mobile data in Peru in our data. There is a less expensive way and several more expensive ways, and the job of this page is to keep you out of the latter.

The full list

All seventeen rows, verified 17 August 2026. At checkout these appear under the name Habla Telefon, which is Airalo's own retail product name for its Peruvian eSIM rather than a network.

Six uncapped plans run alongside: $23 for 3 days, $35.50 for 5, $44 for 7, $48 for 10, $60.50 for 15 and $112.50 for 30.

There is no 50 GB plan for Peru. The metered ladder ends at 20 GB, which matters more than it sounds. In most countries we cover, a 50 GB plan over 30 days exists and is the cheapest rate available, so the practical advice is to ignore the top of the list and buy the bottom of it. Here there is no bottom to reach, and the best rate you can get is the 15-day 20 GB plan.

The 5 GB tier is the one to avoid

Read the per-gigabyte column and the middle of the ladder looks wrong. 5 GB over 30 days costs $24.50, which is $4.90 a gigabyte — a worse rate than the 3 GB plan over 3 days at $4.83. You pay more per gigabyte for buying five times as much data, purely because the 3 GB plan happens to be cheaper than its neighbours.

The 10 GB tier is where the pricing turns sensible again. 10 GB over 7 days is $35.50, at $3.55 a gigabyte, comfortably better than anything in the 5 GB band. If you were about to buy 5 GB, the useful question is whether $13.50 more gets you a plan you would rather have. Usually it does.

Uncapped plans, and the two prices that collide

Peru's uncapped ladder has a couple of steps worth knowing.

The 5-day uncapped plan is $35.50 — the same price, to the cent, as 10 GB over 7 days. Two days less coverage, no data ceiling. Which of those is the better trade depends entirely on how you travel, and the data does not answer it for you.

The second is at a fortnight. Uncapped over 15 days is $60.50 against $57 for 20 GB over the same window. That is $3.50 to remove the cap, the tightest gap on the list, and if there is any prospect of going past 20 GB it is the easier buy.

At seven and ten days the steps are unusually close together too: $44 and $48 respectively, so three extra days cost $4. A month, though, breaks the pattern — $112.50 uncapped over 30 days is nearly double the 15-day price and close to twice the $58.50 that 20 GB over 30 days costs.

What to buy, by trip length

Two or three days in Lima. 1 GB at $6.50 covers maps and messaging on top of hotel wifi. 3 GB over 3 days at $14.50 is the better rate if you need more.

A week. 10 GB over 7 days at $35.50 is the pick. The 5 GB plans at $22 to $24.50 look cheaper and are worse value per gigabyte.

Two weeks, including the Andes or the Amazon. 20 GB over 15 days at $57 is the cheapest gigabyte in Peru. The uncapped 15-day plan at $60.50 costs $3.50 more if you would rather not count.

A month. 20 GB over 30 days at $58.50 is $1.50 above the 15-day plan for twice the window, and it is the most efficient step on the whole ladder. 10 GB over 30 days at $37 is the smaller option.

The gaps in what we hold

Airalo does not publish which network its eSIMs run on, in Peru or anywhere else. The network field is empty on all seventeen rows. We cannot name a Peruvian carrier for these plans, and no honest page can.

We have also not researched Peruvian local SIMs — not the prices, not the registration rules, not where to buy one. There is nothing on that here because there is nothing in our data. If coverage in a specific valley or on a specific route decides your trip, a physical SIM bought locally remains the only way to pick a network on purpose.
