Six Airalo plans were read on 8 October 2026, and the dearest metered rate is $11.50 a gigabyte (1 GB over 3 days at $11.50). We have priced only Airalo here. Which size of Zimbabwe travel SIM should you buy?
The cheapest listing at each size: 1 GB at $11.50 over 3 days ($11.50 a gigabyte); 3 GB at $28 over 3 days ($9.33 a gigabyte); 5 GB at $44 over 7 days ($8.80 a gigabyte).
Moving from 1 GB to 5 GB takes the cost per gigabyte from $11.50 to $8.80, while the bill goes from $11.50 to $44. For 5 GB, the 7-day version costs $44 and the 30-day version $46, so stretching the window costs $2 more. There are no unlimited plans in our data for Zimbabwe. The largest metered plan is 5 GB, so a long stay with heavy use would mean buying more than one plan.
Is an eSIM Zimbabwe worth it against roaming or a local SIM?
We do not know yet. We have not researched local prepaid SIMs in Zimbabwe, so we hold no prices, registration rules or shop details for them, and we have not checked what US or other home carriers charge there. Airalo's rates here run from $8.80 to $11.50 a gigabyte, and we have no local figures to set against that, so we make no claim either way. See the cheapest eSIM plans for how Zimbabwe compares with other countries on the list.
What to know before you buy a Zimbabwe data plan
- Network. Our price file has no network field for these plans. Airalo's Zimbabwe page, read on 8 October 2026, lists Econet as the primary network.
- Install early. The page says you need a stable internet connection to install, can do so before you arrive, and must have the eSIM switched on and selected for data once you are in coverage.
- Data only. The page describes these packages as data-only, so they carry no calls or texts.
- What we did not verify. We did not check SIM registration rules, passport requirements or eSIM support on the local carriers, so check the carrier or the regulator before relying on a local SIM.
- Our method. This is desk research from public pages, not a test on a phone. See how we test.

Common questions
What is the cheapest eSIM Zimbabwe?
On Airalo, the cheapest rate is $8.80 a gigabyte, from the 5 GB plan over 7 days at $44, verified on 8 October 2026. The lowest sticker price is $11.50 for 1 GB over 3 days. We have priced no other seller in Zimbabwe, so this is the cheapest on Airalo only, not the cheapest overall.
Which network does Zimbabwe eSIM use?
Airalo's Zimbabwe page, read on 8 October 2026, lists Econet as the primary network. Our price data has no network field, so we cannot say more about coverage, speeds or which parts of the country are served, and we have not tested the plan on a phone.
How much data can you get with a Zimbabwe eSIM?
The largest metered Airalo plan we found is 5 GB, at $44 over 7 days ($8.80 a gigabyte). There is no 50 GB plan in our data. For a longer or heavier trip you would need a second plan, or another seller, which we have not priced for Zimbabwe.
Is an eSIM cheaper than a local SIM in Zimbabwe?
We do not know. We have researched Airalo's eSIM prices only, not local SIM prices, registration rules or roaming charges in Zimbabwe, so we cannot compare them. Airalo's rate runs from $8.80 to $11.50 a gigabyte, and that is the only price set we hold.
Are there unlimited Zimbabwe data plans?
Not in our data. All 6 plans we verified on 8 October 2026 are metered, from 1 GB to 5 GB. Compare the per-gigabyte rate across sizes before you choose, since the cheapest total is rarely the cheapest rate.
