Lithuania's cheapest verified eSIM rate is $0.84 a gigabyte, and neighbouring Latvia is cheaper at every rung below it

Most European visitors should buy nothing

Lithuania is in the European Union, and under roam-like-at-home rules any mobile plan issued in the EU or the wider EEA works there at domestic rates with no roaming surcharge. If you are arriving from Poland, Latvia, Germany, Ireland or anywhere else in the zone, the honest recommendation is to buy no eSIM at all — turn data roaming on and check your operator's fair-use roaming cap, which is frequently smaller than the allowance you use at home.

That is first on the page because it is the right answer for a large share of readers. Everything below is for travellers from outside the zone — the United States, Canada, Australia, most of Asia — and for British travellers, whose European roaming now depends on their operator.

One seller, eighteen prices, one date

We hold plan data for exactly one eSIM provider in Lithuania: Airalo. Eighteen plans, all eighteen verified — read off airalo.com on 17 August 2026. Airalo lists its Lithuanian plans under the name Lila Mobile. That is Airalo's own retail product name, not a carrier. Airalo publishes no host network for Lithuania and none for any other country, so we cannot tell you which Lithuanian operator the eSIM connects to.

Everything here is a single-country plan. We hold no regional or multi-country pricing for the Baltics, so if you are crossing into Latvia or Estonia on the same trip, this page cannot tell you what that costs.

The metered ladder

Lithuania and Latvia are close to the same price list

There is no point writing this page as though we discovered Lithuania on its own. We read both countries off the same site on the same day, and they overlap almost exactly: an identical 1 GB plan, identical 3 GB plans at both durations, four of six unlimited plans identical, and an identical 50 GB plan at $42. Both floor at $0.84 a gigabyte, which reads as pricing policy rather than two local markets.

The divergence sits in the middle. Lithuania's 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB plans all cost more than the Latvian ones — by a dollar at 5 and 10 GB, and by two and a half dollars at 20 GB. So a week or a fortnight in Lithuania costs a little more than the same trip next door, while a month at 50 GB costs precisely the same.

Against the rest of Europe, $0.84 a gigabyte is good but not remarkable. Cyprus floors at $0.72 a gigabyte, Estonia at $0.98, and the cheapest European rates we hold anywhere are Austria at $0.58 and Belgium at $0.65.

Where the ladder stops is why the country is cheap

What a country costs on Airalo tracks one thing above all: how far the ladder runs. Lithuania goes to 50 GB over 30 days, and countries with a 50 GB rung land near a dollar a gigabyte. Countries stopping at 20 GB sit at $2 to $3; the ones stopping at 10 GB — Kenya, Nigeria, Fiji — run $4.60 to $4.70 a gigabyte. Small plans cost roughly the same everywhere, which is why the top of the ladder decides everything.

Within Lithuania that gradient is nearly five to one: $4 a gigabyte at 1 GB against $0.84 at 50 GB, same seller, same morning.

Unlimited, and two coincidences worth knowing

Airalo's six unlimited plans here run $11.50 for 3 days, $19 for 5, $27 for 7, $34 for 10, $48 for 15 and $69 for 30. Two of those land on exactly the same price as a metered plan, which makes the choice unusually clear.

For $11.50 you can have unlimited data for 3 days or 5 GB spread over 15. For $19 you can have unlimited for 5 days or 10 GB over 30. In both pairs the metered plan gives you six times the window; the unlimited plan gives you no counter to watch. And at the top, the 15-day unlimited plan is $48 while the 50 GB plan is $42 for twice as long — more money for less coverage, unless you truly expect to pass 50 GB in a fortnight.

Which plan to buy

• A weekend in Vilnius. 3 GB over 3 days at $7.50, or unlimited at $11.50 if you would rather not count.
• A week. 10 GB over 7 days at $18; the 15-day version is $18.50, which is worth the extra fifty cents if your dates might move.
• Two weeks. 20 GB over 15 days at $29.50.
• A month, or a tethered laptop. 50 GB over 30 days at $42, the only plan here under a dollar a gigabyte.

What this page does not tell you

We hold no local SIM data for Lithuania at all: no airport prices, no shop advice, no registration rules, no operator names. We have not researched it, so this page stays quiet on it rather than guessing.
