eSIM Nicaragua: The 10 GB plan is the only sensible size in Nicaragua, and the week-long one is cheapest

14 Airalo plans read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026. The rate runs from $3.20 a gigabyte for 10 GB over 7 days to $6.00 for 1 GB over 3 days.

What does eSIM Nicaragua cost on Airalo?

All the figures for eSIM Nicaragua here come from Airalo, and only from Airalo. We hold fourteen Nicaragua plans, each read off airalo.com on 8 October 2026. We have priced only Airalo for Nicaragua; we have not priced Saily, Holafly, Nomad, eSIMCard or eSIM Go here, so this eSIM Nicaragua list is one company's price list, not a survey of the market, and it cannot tell you the best eSIM for Nicaragua across sellers.

The cheapest gigabyte is $3.20, from the 10 GB plan over 7 days at $32. The dearest is $6, from the 1 GB plan over 3 days at $6. That is a 1.9-fold spread inside one seller's list. For other countries and sellers see the cheapest eSIM plans and how the providers compare.

Unlimited plans exist: $19.50 for 3 days, $28.50 for 5 days, $36.50 for 7 days, $42 for 10 days, $68 for 15 days. The largest metered plan is 10 GB.

Which size should you buy?

The three 10 GB plans differ by only a few dollars across windows: $32 for 7 days, $33 for 15 and $34 for 30. Stretching from a week to a month costs $2 more, so if there is any chance your trip runs long, the 30-day window is cheap insurance. Nothing here goes above 10 GB, so there is no 20 GB or 50 GB bargain to wait for.

For a short trip with light use, the 1 GB plan at $6 over 3 days is the entry point, but at $6 a gigabyte it is among the worst rates here. If you will use real data for maps, messages and photos, the 10 GB range starts at $32 (7 days).

What to know before you buy a Nicaragua data plan

An eSIM Nicaragua purchase is only part of the picture. Travel guides name two prepaid operators for visitors, Claro and Tigo, with Tigo formerly Movistar. They disagree about which has better coverage. We did not find an official rule from either operator or from the regulator TELCOR on passport or registration for SIM cards, so we cannot tell you whether a local SIM needs your passport; one guide says you may need it, which is a reason to carry it, not a rule. We also could not confirm that Claro or Tigo sell eSIMs to visitors. Airalo publishes no host network for its Nicaragua plans, which it sells under the name Nicarcell.

We have not tested these plans on a phone; this is desk research from public sources, and the data tells you what Airalo charges, not how fast or reliable a Nicaragua travel SIM will be in practice.

Is a cheap eSIM for Nicaragua worth it versus roaming or a local SIM?

We have not priced roaming from any home carrier, and we have not priced local SIMs for Nicaragua, so we cannot give you a verified saving. What the data supports is narrower: an eSIM can be installed before you leave and avoids a counter queue on arrival, and the price you will pay is on this page. Check your own carrier's daily roaming charge against the plan you are considering; whether a Nicaragua travel SIM from Airalo beats it depends on that figure, and we do not have it. Common questions

What is the cheapest eSIM for Nicaragua?

On Airalo, the 10 GB plan over 7 days at $32, or $3.20 a gigabyte, the lowest rate across the 14 plans we verified on 8 October 2026. We hold no prices for any other seller in Nicaragua, so this is the cheapest we have seen, not the cheapest that exists.

How much does eSIM Nicaragua cost for one week?

Our data holds these 7-day plans: 3 GB at $16.50, 5 GB at $24, 10 GB at $32. The 7-day unlimited plan is $36.50. All are Airalo prices verified on 8 October 2026. The cheapest week-long rate per gigabyte is the largest of those plans.

Does Airalo say which network its Nicaragua eSIM uses?

No. Airalo publishes no host network for its Nicaragua plans, and the network field in our data is empty for all 14 rows. Travel guides name local operators, but we could not confirm which one carries these plans, so we do not name one. Check the Airalo plan page before you buy if the network matters to you.

Is there an unlimited eSIM for Nicaragua?

They cost far more than metered plans of a similar length, so work out your likely usage first. We have not tested how any unlimited plan behaves after heavy use, and Airalo's fair-use terms are on its plan page.
