eSIM Go in Thailand: overpriced on paper, and unbuyable in fact

Thailand is the hardest market to be average in

Thailand is the cheapest eSIM market we cover. Verified 10GB plans land around $10 to $11, verified 5GB plans around $8, and a prepaid Thai SIM at the airport runs roughly $10 with a local number attached.

Our Thailand data holds two eSIM Go rows — 3GB over 30 days at $8.50 and 10GB over 30 days at $17 — which is well above all of that. Earlier versions of this page told you to check the live price in case it had moved.

There is no live price. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers — travel brands, apps and MVNOs that put their own name on the eSIM — and does not retail to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales where a shop puts Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404. So the two rows below cannot be confirmed at any point in the future, and the advice to go and look has been withdrawn. The full finding is on our eSIM Go platform page.

The gap, in numbers

At $2.83 a gigabyte the 3GB row is the worst 30-day rate we hold for Thailand from anybody. It is beaten on its own terms by Airalo's verified 5GB month at $8 — fifty cents less for two extra gigabytes.

The 10GB row is worse. $17 is less data than Airalo's verified 20GB month at $18, and $7 above Nomad's verified 10GB month. The $17 is not a Thai price at all: it is the same figure our eSIM Go rows carry in eight other countries, from Australia to the United States.

What Thailand actually costs

Nomad also sells a verified 50GB block over 10 days for $12, which is the cheapest data-per-dollar anywhere in our Thailand set if your trip is short and heavy. eSIMCard is a different case again: a real storefront whose prices can be paid, but whose rows we withdrew on 18 August 2026 after reading its site and finding ours wrong.

Nobody publishes a network in Thailand

Nobody in this market publishes a host network. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none of them names a carrier for any country — the operators our data once attributed to Holafly's listing were nowhere on Holafly's site. eSIM Go could not name one even if it wanted to, having no consumer page at all. We hold no confirmed host network for any provider in Thailand — not one.

That removes an argument people often reach for. Nobody can be preferred on the grounds that it uses a better Thai network, because nobody says which network they use. What is knowable: Thailand's networks are AIS, True Corporation and National Telecom, and coverage across the tourist circuit — Bangkok, Chiang Mai, the Gulf and Andaman islands — is generally good on all of them.

The airport SIM

A prepaid Thai SIM costs around $10, with a passport needed to register, and gives you a Thai number. Against Nomad's verified $10 for a 10GB month the price is a wash, so the choice is the number and the queue against installing before you fly.

Verdict

There is nothing to buy from eSIM Go in Thailand, and its rows were poor value even taken at face value — beaten at both sizes by verified plans, and beaten on data-per-dollar by a rival's next tier up.

Nomad's verified $10 for a 10GB month is the number to beat here, with Saily's verified $5.99 at 3GB and $7.99 at 5GB below it at the small end. The full Thailand field is on the Thailand hub.
