National Telecom Thailand SIM card (NT): what it offers and what it does not for tourists

NT runs the my by NT mobile brand, with monthly and prepaid plans. We found no tourist SIM or eSIM from NT, so most visitors will look at AIS or True.

A National Telecom Thailand SIM card, from NT, is not aimed at tourists as far as we can tell. NT's mobile brand is my by NT, and its English-language material is thin. We read NT's mobile service page on 8 October 2026 and found no tourist SIM, tourist eSIM or foreigner-registration guidance. If you want a SIM for a holiday, AIS and True both publish tourist plans.

What does NT's mobile service page say?

NT says customers can choose monthly or prepaid plans. The service runs on partner networks offering 5G, 4G and 3G with voice, and operates on 700 MHz spectrum under a licence NT says runs to 2579 in the Buddhist calendar. The page notes that NT's earlier 850 MHz licence ended on 3 August 2568 (2025) and that customers can continue on 700 MHz. The page does not describe the prepaid SIM, its price, eSIM, or how a foreigner registers with a passport. It gives no prices at all.

Does National Telecom have a tourist SIM or eSIM?

We found none. NT's page tells you to contact its 24-hour Contact Center on 1888 or an NT service center for prices, eSIM and foreigner or passport registration. Other NT products we saw in search results, such as an international calling card, are not data SIMs for visitors, and we did not read those pages.

National Telecom Thailand SIM card coverage

NT says its coverage spans every province in Thailand. That is NT's claim, not a measured one, and the page gives no population, island or highland detail. Our Thailand network notes rank NT behind AIS and True; they come from our own data and are not NT statements. We would not choose NT for islands or trekking on the strength of anything we could verify.

Should a tourist pick NT or another carrier?

With no published tourist plan and no stated registration route for foreigners, NT is the harder option for a visitor. The two networks that publish tourist plans are AIS, with plans from 49 baht for a day to 1,599 baht for 60 days, and True, where Infinite SIMs run 8, 15 and 30 days. A travel eSIM installed before you land avoids the shop altogether. See the Thailand comparison, the Thailand hub and the cheapest eSIM page.

Who might use NT?

Someone who lives in Thailand or is staying a long time, and who can use an NT service center with a passport, might look at my by NT. If so, call 1888 first, because we cannot confirm what is on offer or its price.

What NT's page does not say

Prepaid prices, SIM and eSIM availability, foreigner registration and coverage figures. We have not tested the service.

Common questions

Does National Telecom (NT) have a tourist SIM card in Thailand?

We found none. NT's mobile page mentions monthly and prepaid plans but no tourist SIM, no eSIM and no foreigner registration steps. AIS and True both publish tourist plans, so most visitors will look there first.

What is my by NT?

my by NT is the mobile service of National Telecom, with monthly and prepaid plans. NT's page says it runs on 700 MHz and offers 5G, 4G and 3G through partner networks, with coverage across every province. It gives no prices.

Can a foreigner register an NT SIM with a passport?

NT's mobile page does not say. It tells customers to contact its 24-hour Contact Center on 1888 or visit an NT service center for foreigner or passport registration and for prices. Thai law requires SIM registration.

Is NT coverage good in Thailand?

NT says its service covers every province. The page gives no population or island detail, and the figure is NT's own claim. AIS is the carrier our notes suggest for islands and remote areas, but that is unverified.

Is NT cheaper than AIS or True for tourists?

We cannot say, because NT publishes no tourist plan or prices on the page we read. AIS lists tourist plans from 49 baht for a day, and True lists Infinite SIMs. Call NT on 1888 for a quote.
