True Corporation Thailand SIM card: Infinite SIM, Data-Only SIM and passport rules

True and dtac sell tourist SIMs together: 8, 15 and 30-day Infinite SIMs and a 10-day data-only SIM. All need a passport, and shops include airports.

A True Corporation Thailand SIM card is sold to tourists under the joint True and dtac name, the combined brand that appears on its pages. On 8 October 2026 we read the True tourist page and the True home page, which refers to a network for both True and dtac customers. The tourist plans there are clear, and they are priced less openly than AIS.

Which True Corporation Thailand SIM card plans can a tourist buy?

The page lists two products:

  • Infinite SIM in 8, 15 or 30-day versions: unlimited mobile data at maximum available speed, free Wi-Fi at designated hotspots, free local calls of up to 15 minutes each and free international call credit, all valid within Thailand only.
  • Data-Only SIM (10 days): data plus receiving calls and SMS or MMS. Outgoing calls are blocked except emergency and call-centre numbers.

The page's FAQ suggests the 8-day Infinite SIM at 449 baht for a trip of 5 to 7 days. We read no other package prices on the page, so for the 15 and 30-day SIMs check True's current listing. Out-of-bundle rates, excluding VAT: local calls 5 baht a minute, local data 2 baht per MB (the FAQ says 1.5), SMS 5 baht.

Do you need a passport for a True tourist SIM?

Yes. The page says registration needs a valid passport, with up to three SIMs per person per brand. Validity cannot exceed 60 days and cannot be extended by top-up after expiry; to carry on you must re-register with a passport at a True dtac shop or call 1242 (True) or 1678 (dtac). Prepaid credit is capped at 5,000 baht per SIM.

Where do you buy a True or dtac tourist SIM?

True and dtac shops nationwide, airport locations open 24 hours, True and dtac online stores, and partner websites, per the page. That makes True one of the few Thai networks whose own page names airports. The page mentions eSIM options but does not give eSIM-specific terms, so confirm availability and prices before you plan to buy one online.

True Corporation Thailand SIM card coverage

The True home page promotes a network with strong signal for True and dtac customers, and the tourist page warns that quality depends on device and frequency. The FAQ says every phone model works, while the terms limit service to supported devices and frequencies, so check yours. We found no coverage percentage. Our Thailand network notes say True and dtac are good in Bangkok and cities but weaker in remote areas; that comes from our own data and is unverified.

True or a travel eSIM?

True is a fair choice for a week or longer if you want calls and Wi-Fi perks. A travel eSIM installed before landing avoids the shop and passport step. See the Thailand comparison, the Thailand hub and the cheapest eSIM page. For rivals: AIS publishes a ladder of plans from 49 baht, and National Telecom shows no tourist plan.

What True's page does not say

Prices of the 15 and 30-day Infinite SIMs and the data-only SIM, eSIM details, and coverage. The terms and the FAQ disagree on one data rate. We have not tested the service.
