NOS Portugal SIM card: the Like prepaid plan, eSIM and where to buy
NOS names its Like prepaid plan as its option for tourists: 55 GB for 10 euros a month, sold at airports, stores and online as an eSIM.
Is a NOS Portugal SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
NOS names its own Like prepaid plan as the main recommendation for tourists, and the page we read presents it as having no contract and no complex paperwork. We read NOS's visiting Portugal answer and its prepaid plans page on 8 October 2026. Our network notes call NOS the best all-round network for road trips; we have not verified that and rely only on NOS's own claims below.
What NOS prepaid plans can a visitor use?
- NOS Like
- 10 euros a month, 55 GB, 1,000 minutes and SMS, renewing monthly on the activation day, no commitment, with 5G included. The page also shows launch bonuses whose figures do not agree with each other, so read the offer at checkout
- Like International
- adds international calls and SMS to a data package, valid one month
- Livres
- no data included, 0.06 euro a minute and 0.29 euro per day of use, data at 0.02 euro per MB, with no mandatory top-ups
- Data-only prepaid
- including unlimited data for 15 days or 1 day, and on some, hotspot sharing
How and where do you get it?
NOS says you can buy in its stores, at airport points of sale aimed at tourists, or online with an eSIM activated in minutes. A physical card can be delivered home within 48 hours. The Like page states it can also be joined by eSIM, and the eSIM page asks you to check compatibility by dialling *#06# for an EID number. Top-ups are by NOS app, Multibanco reference or kiosk and stores, and the page says international payment cards can be used.
What does NOS say about ID?
It does not state an ID requirement. It says only that activation needs no contracts or complex paperwork. Ask at the store or airport counter what they will want to see.
What does NOS say about coverage and NOS 5G?
NOS calls its national network widely covered, often 5G, including remote areas, and says its plans are 5G-compatible with EU roaming included. Those are NOS's own marketing statements, with no independent data on the page.
NOS prepaid versus a travel eSIM
The NOS airport counter and eSIM both shorten the wait compared with a postal card. A travel eSIM installed before you fly may suit a one-week trip better, while Like suits a stay over a month. Compare on the cheapest eSIM page. Other networks are on the MEO, Vodafone Portugal and Digi Portugal pages. Our Portugal SIM card comparison lays out the options, where to buy a SIM card in Portugal covers shops and airports, and the Portugal hub has the rest. Travel eSIM prices are on the cheapest eSIM page.
