eSIM Go in Greece: nothing on sale, and nothing that held up

What we can confirm

One thing, and it is not what this page used to lead on. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers rather than to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout — the button says Contact Sales — and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.

So there is no Greek plan to buy, and the older advice to check eSIM Go's own Greece page for current pricing pointed at a page that does not exist. Our eSIM Go platform page sets out the full finding, including why the 34 rows we hold for other countries can never be verified.

What we removed

The network. An earlier version of this page credited the company with a particular Greek network pairing and built an island recommendation on it. Nothing supported that, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could have said it. Neither does anyone else: reading Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 turned up no carrier named for any country.

The hotspot tick. The page opened by crediting eSIM Go with allowing tethering where Holafly does not. That came from the same generated corpus and was never checkable. The Holafly half stands: it does not permit tethering on its Greek plan, which decides the purchase on its own if two of you want to share a connection or get a laptop online from a rented apartment on Naxos.

The $0. You may see a figure of $0 attached to eSIM Go in older comparison tables on this site. That is a placeholder that leaked out of our data pipeline, not a free plan. We have removed it from the Greece comparison and we are flagging it here because it appeared publicly and was wrong. Our verification standard is set out at how we test.

The Airalo rows were verified against Airalo's site on 13 August 2026, the Saily row against Saily's on 16 August 2026 and the Nomad rows against nomadesim.com on 17 August 2026. eSIMCard's rows have been withdrawn: we read its own pages on 18 August 2026, found the figures we held were wrong, and could not store the real ones. See our eSIMCard page. An earlier version of this page called Nomad's figures unchecked and said its own listing names Cosmote. Both statements were wrong: the prices have now been read at source, and Nomad publishes no host network anywhere. Anything that does not beat $0.62 per gigabyte at the top of the range is not the cheap option, whoever is selling it.

The other benchmark is the local SIM. Greece requires no ID for prepaid, and a tourist pack runs about $15 for somewhere in the 10GB to 30GB range, sold over the counter at Athens International and Heraklion.

The Greek coverage caveat, whoever you buy from

Some places have no signal on any network. The smaller Cyclades and Dodecanese islands — Folegandros, Sikinos, Kastelorizo — are thinly covered. So are the interior mountains of the mainland and of Crete, and the interior highlands of Corfu. Stretches of Aegean ferry routes between islands have nothing at all.

Cosmote has the best Cyclades coverage of the three Greek networks, so a plan riding it gives you the best odds. We cannot tell you which plans those are: no seller in our Greek data has a confirmed host network, and none of them publishes one. If island coverage is the deciding factor, the only certain answer is a local SIM bought over the counter from the carrier you want. Nothing makes a ferry crossing work — download offline maps and your tickets before you sail.

The verdict

There is no eSIM Go plan to buy for Greece, and nothing this page once claimed for it survived checking — not the network pairing, not the tethering, and certainly not the $0. It supplies other brands rather than selling to travellers.

Buy against Nomad's verified $21 for 20GB and $31 for 50GB, which lead the country. If the Cyclades are the point of the trip, buy a Cosmote SIM over the counter at Athens or Heraklion instead and know what you are on. The full Greek comparison is on our Greece hub.
