eSIMCard in Greece: no price from us, and why that is the honest answer

The two plans this page was built on are gone

We held a one-gigabyte three-day plan and a three-gigabyte week for Greece, and this review turned on where they sat in the ladder. Both have been withdrawn — removed from the table here and from the cheapest-per-gigabyte ranking across the site, rather than relabelled.

This is a stronger statement than the indicative label those rows used to carry. Indicative means unread but plausible. On 18 August 2026 we read eSIMCard's own pages and found the plan our data priced identically in fifteen unrelated markets sells for well under half of it in Japan, and that our sizes matched neither tier it really sells. Once you know a number is wrong, calling it indicative stops being a caveat and starts being a euphemism.

Replacing them was not an option. eSIMCard sells the same size over the same duration at several prices at once — a Standard/Universal toggle switches the whole range between two product lines, every plan carries a speed-limit flag buried in its own details modal, and the operators named vary plan by plan. Our records hold only provider, size, days and price, so any single figure we stored would have flattened those distinctions into a claim we cannot support. Our eSIMCard page has the detail.

What an eSIM for Greece actually costs

The networks, and the trip they suit

Cosmote and Vodafone are the pairing to want in Greece. Cosmote is the largest network, the only operator with deployed 5G, and the best of the three across the Cyclades. Vodafone is strong on the mainland and the larger islands.

The carriers our own records held against eSIMCard's Greek rows came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, so we no longer present them as its arrangement. Note too where a small plan points you: one or three gigabytes is an Athens plan, or a single-island plan. It is not enough data for the multi-island route where the Cosmote advantage really pays and you are checking ferry times, re-downloading maps and hunting for rooms on the move.

Wherever you end up, the Greek dead zones are the same. The smaller Cyclades and Dodecanese islands including Folegandros, Sikinos and Kastelorizo have thin coverage. So do the interior mountains of the mainland and Crete, and Corfu's interior highlands. Stretches of Aegean ferry routes have no signal at all.

What eSIMCard still does that nobody else does

eSIMCard is the only one of the six sellers on this site that publishes the host network at all. We read that directly: its Japan page names three Japanese operators against its plans, in a Supported Countries & Networks block. Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name no operator in any country, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. That is a genuine difference, and the price check left it untouched.

For Greece we hold no read of its listing, and the pair our data carried came from our own generated text. On a Cyclades route the answer would genuinely be worth having, and eSIMCard's own page is the only one that would give you one.

Verdict

We have no Greek price for eSIMCard, so this page no longer places it in the ladder. That is a gap in our records rather than a judgement on the shop.

Greece rewards buying enough data rather than the cheapest plan — ferry timetables, offline maps and accommodation hunting eat more than people expect. The verified table above is where to start, and the Greece hub has the full field.
