Holafly in Greece: unlimited data with a cheaper twin at every length

One product, six lengths

Holafly does not sell gigabytes in Greece. It sells unlimited data for a fixed number of days, and that is the whole catalogue. These prices were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

Those six windows are the whole range, in Greece and in every country Holafly sells.

A correction. This page used to print $11.70, $19.50 and $27.30 for the first three plans and made a point of them all working out at exactly $3.90 a day. There is no flat rate — the real per-day figures are $3.97, $4.10 and $3.93, and five days is the worst-value rung on the ladder rather than an identical one. Every price in the old table was wrong, the month by a dollar. They came from our own generated dataset, not from Holafly.

No calls or SMS are included. Our older text said tethering was supported on every Greek plan; we hold nothing verified on that either way and Holafly's hotspot policy differs by country, so check the plan's own terms if you intend to share the connection.

Every plan has a cheaper twin

This is the difficulty. Airalo sells unlimited Greek plans at exactly the same six durations, and its prices — read off Airalo's own site — come in lower at all six.

Nomad makes it worse, and it sells four lengths rather than the single week this page used to credit it with: $11 for three days, $18 for five, $25 for seven and $33 for ten. Every one of those is the cheapest uncapped Greek plan at its length.

So Holafly is the most expensive unlimited option we hold for Greece at all six durations, and third of three wherever Nomad competes.

The auto-switching claim we withdrew

Holafly's own listing for Greece names no carrier at all, and says nothing about moving between networks. The Cosmote, Nova and Vodafone Greece trio this page used to describe sat against only the three-day and five-day rows in our data, and it came from those records rather than from Holafly, which publishes no host network for Greece or for any country.

That matters, because Greece is precisely the country where switching between networks would earn its keep, and it was the strongest argument this page had for buying Holafly. The known weak spots are the smaller Cyclades and Dodecanese islands, Folegandros, Sikinos and Kastelórizo among them; the mountain interiors of the mainland and Crete; inland Corfu; and long stretches of Aegean ferry route where there is no signal between islands.

A claim the seller never made cannot carry a recommendation. If your itinerary genuinely depends on signal in those places, the dependable answer is a Greek SIM bought locally — no ID required, sold over the counter on the spot, around $15 at the airport.

Is unlimited even the right shape here?

Often not. A week of Athens and Santorini is maps, ferry timetables, photo uploads and WhatsApp, and that is a metered-plan amount of data. Airalo's verified 5GB week costs $11 and its 10GB week $19, against $27.50 for the unlimited equivalent.

Over a month it is starker. Airalo's verified 50GB for 30 days is $42 and Nomad's is $31 — the latter is $42.90 below an unlimited month from Holafly, for more data than most travellers manage to use.

Unlimited is worth its premium in two cases: you genuinely cannot predict your usage, or you would rather not think about it. Both are fair. Neither is cheap in Greece.

Verdict

We cannot recommend Holafly for Greece, and not because the product is poor. Unlimited data, nothing to register, live before you land — that is a reasonable thing to buy. The problem is that two other providers sell the same thing at the same lengths for less money, and their prices are the ones we have checked.

For an unlimited week, Nomad is $2.50 cheaper. For an unlimited month, Airalo saves $4.90. For the cheapest data in Greece outright, Nomad's 50GB month at $31 costs $42.90 less than Holafly's thirty days.

The auto-switching story was the one thing that could have changed this verdict, and it turned out to be ours rather than Holafly's. And if your SIM is from an EU or EEA country, you should be roaming at domestic rates and buying nothing.
