Cosmote Greece SIM card: what we could verify and what we could not

Cosmote is Greece's biggest-name mobile brand, but its pages gave our reader almost nothing to quote. Here is what we saw and what to check yourself.

Is a Cosmote Greece SIM card the right choice for a visitor?

We cannot give you a verified answer, and we would rather say so than pad the page. Cosmote is the mobile brand of the OTE Group, and many travellers look for a Cosmote SIM card first. But on 8 October 2026 the Cosmote and Telekom pages we tried to read returned either a redirect or a heading with no body text, so there is almost nothing from Cosmote itself that we can responsibly quote.

What we did see

  • The website has moved. Requests to cosmote.gr pages were redirected to telekom.gr, so use telekom.gr when you search for Cosmote's English prepaid and eSIM pages.
  • Prepaid and eSIM pages exist. The English addresses we tried (a prepaid page and an eSIM page under telekom.gr) loaded but gave us no readable plan, price, tourist-offer or ID information.

That is all we can confirm. We did not find a tourist or visitor product on any page we could read.

What we could not verify

  • Tourist or visitor SIM. We cannot say whether Cosmote sells a SIM aimed at visitors.
  • Prepaid and eSIM terms. No prices, fees, data allowances or validity periods.
  • ID and registration. Whether a foreign passport is enough, and where you may buy.
  • Coverage and 5G. We have no coverage statement we read on Cosmote's own site. Our own network notes call Cosmote the largest Greek network, but they are an unverified lead, so we do not repeat that as fact.

How to check before you buy

Open Cosmote's prepaid and eSIM pages in your own browser, or visit a Cosmote shop with your passport. Ask four things: does a visitor pack exist, what does it cost, which ID is needed and whether eSIM is sold to prepaid customers. Then look at the coverage map for your islands or routes.

Cosmote compared with a travel eSIM and other Greek carriers

Because we cannot verify Cosmote's offer, a travel eSIM bought before you fly is the safer thing to line up while you check. Our Greece SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM page set out the options. For carriers whose pages we could read, see Vodafone Greece, which sells a tourist SIM, and Wind Hellas (Nova). Back to the Greece hub.

Bottom line

Our verdict on the Cosmote Greece SIM card is that we cannot yet give one. Cosmote prepaid, any Cosmote eSIM and the Cosmote tourist SIM question all need checking on Cosmote's current pages or in a shop.

Common questions

Does Cosmote sell a tourist SIM card in Greece?

We could not confirm it. Cosmote's English prepaid and eSIM pages loaded on 8 October 2026 without readable plan details, so we found no visitor product on any page we read. Ask in a Cosmote shop or read the prepaid page yourself before you plan around it.

Is Cosmote the best network in Greece?

We cannot say from Cosmote's own site, because the pages we read held no coverage statement. Some sources describe Cosmote as the largest Greek network, but we treat that as unverified. Check Cosmote's coverage map for your islands and routes, and compare it with Vodafone and Nova.

Does Cosmote Greece offer an eSIM?

We could not verify it. The Cosmote eSIM page we reached showed no readable content, so we do not know whether eSIM is sold to prepaid customers, the cost, or the ID needed. Check the eSIM page on telekom.gr, which cosmote.gr now redirects to.

How much is a Cosmote prepaid SIM?

We have no verified price. Cosmote's prepaid pages gave our reader no figures on 8 October 2026, and we quote prices only when we read them on the carrier's own page. Cosmote's current prices are on its site, which now sits on telekom.gr.

Where do I find Cosmote's official pages?

Cosmote's address cosmote.gr redirects to telekom.gr, so its English prepaid and eSIM pages now sit there. If a page loads without detail, try the Greek version or visit a Cosmote shop. We will fill in this page when we can read the plans.
