Wind Hellas (Nova) Greece SIM card: the prepaid options Nova lists

Nova, the brand behind Wind Hellas, sells a data-only prepaid SIM and a FREE2GO prepaid line with eSIM. There is no tourist pack on the pages we read.

Is a Wind Hellas (Nova) Greece SIM card a good choice for a visitor?

It is a decent choice for data only, and a weaker one if you want calls or a tourist pack with clear rules. The Wind Hellas business now presents itself as Nova on nova.gr, though some of its product pages still carry the Wind name. Nova's site has no tourist or visitor page that we could find, so you are choosing from its ordinary prepaid products.

What can you buy?

We read two Nova pages on 8 October 2026.

  • Mobile Internet on the go (data-only SIM). A prepaid SIM with no contract: the starter pack is 15 GB for 60 days at 15 € including VAT. Top-ups listed are 10 GB for 30 days at 10 €, 15 GB for 60 days at 15 € and 30 GB for 60 days at 25 €. You insert the SIM and activate the pack at any Nova store; balance can be topped up in a store or online by card without registering.
  • FREE2GO prepaid line with eSIM. Nova's eSIM page says eSIM is available to FREE2GO prepaid customers and to new customers who choose it instead of a physical SIM, provided the phone supports it. It says the eSIM is free of charge. You need Wi-Fi during setup, you scan the QR code in your package, and one eSIM cannot be active on two phones at once.

What are the catches?

The data SIM does not do voice or SMS, apart from a few service numbers. The free gigabytes apply only within Greece, charges are per kilobyte, and data stops when the pack runs out until you top up. The page mentions no ID requirement, but for the eSIM route we do not know what a foreign visitor must show. Ask in a Nova store. Nova's pages we read make no 4G or 5G coverage claim, so we say nothing about its reach on the islands.

Nova compared with a travel eSIM

The 15 € data SIM is a fair yardstick for a two-month stay, but for a week a travel eSIM bought at home saves you a trip to a shop. Our Greece SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM page compare them. If you want a carrier that explicitly serves tourists, read about Vodafone Greece or Cosmote. Back to the Greece hub.

Bottom line

Our verdict on the Wind Hellas Greece SIM card, now sold as Nova, is that the data-only prepaid SIM is cheap but has no calls, and the Wind Hellas eSIM route is for FREE2GO customers. There is no tourist SIM page.

Common questions

Is Wind Hellas now Nova?

Wind Hellas products are sold on nova.gr under the Nova name, and some product pages still carry Wind branding. Nova's pages we read do not explain the change, so we cannot confirm the corporate history from the carrier itself. Look for Nova stores.

Does Nova sell a tourist SIM in Greece?

We found no tourist or visitor page on nova.gr. What Nova lists is an ordinary data-only prepaid SIM, 15 GB for 60 days at 15 euros as read on 8 October 2026, and a FREE2GO prepaid line. Ask a Nova store whether a foreign passport is accepted.

Does Nova Greece have an eSIM?

Yes for some customers. Nova's eSIM page says it is available to FREE2GO prepaid customers and to new customers who choose it instead of a physical SIM, and that it is free of charge. You need a compatible phone, Wi-Fi during setup, and the QR code from your package.

Can I make calls with Nova's prepaid data SIM?

No. The Mobile Internet on the go page says voice calls and SMS are not supported, except for a few service SMS numbers. It is a data-only SIM. If you need calls, consider the FREE2GO prepaid line or a messaging app over data.

How much is Nova's prepaid data SIM?

On 8 October 2026 the starter pack was 15 GB for 60 days at 15 euros including VAT. Top-ups were 10 GB for 30 days at 10 euros, 15 GB for 60 days at 15 euros and 30 GB for 60 days at 25 euros. Prices may change; confirm on Nova's site.
