Saily in Greece: it sells validity, never price

The range

All five prices were read from Saily's own site on 16 August 2026 and are flagged verified in our data. Two of them are higher than the figures we carried before: 10GB was listed here at $19.99 and 20GB at $29.99, and the real prices are $3 and $6 above that. If you priced a Greek trip on this page earlier, re-check the large plans before you buy.

Every plan is data-only, with no calls or SMS, and tethering is supported across the range. There is no unlimited option, and nothing larger than 20GB.

The plan nobody else sells

Start with the one that justifies the page. Saily's 3GB for 30 days at $9.99 is the only 3GB plan in Greece that lasts more than a week.

Airalo's verified 3GB costs $9 for 7 days, with a 3-day version at $8.50. That is cheaper. Neither is any use if your trip runs three weeks.

That combination — a small allowance with a long window — fits a very common Greek holiday. Island-hopping for a fortnight or more, on hotel and taverna wifi most of the day, using mobile data for ferry timetables, maps between ports and the occasional message. You are not going to touch 10GB. You are also not going to be finished in a week.

The 1GB plan used to work on the same logic: $4.49 buys 7 days where Airalo's verified $4 buys 3, and forty-nine cents for four extra days is a fair trade if your usage is genuinely light. That argument has just been beaten. Nomad's 1GB over 7 days is $4.00, checked at source on 17 August 2026 — the same window as Saily's for less money. An earlier version of this page put it at $5.00 and had Saily winning the row.

Above 3GB it is the most expensive of the three

This is where the corrected prices change the conclusion rather than just the digits.

The Saily column was read from Saily's own site on 16 August 2026, the Airalo column from Airalo's on 13 August 2026 and the Nomad column from nomadesim.com on 17 August 2026. All three are now checked figures.

Saily loses every one of those three rows. Nomad is cheaper at all three, by $2.99, $4.99 and $14.99 as the sizes rise. Airalo is cheaper by $1.99, $2.99 and $0.49 respectively — narrow at 20GB, but the wrong side of narrow. We used to say Saily was never the worst option here; on verified numbers, at 10GB and 20GB it is exactly that.

For heavy monthly use the whole comparison shifts anyway. Nomad's verified 50GB for 30 days at $31 works out at $0.62 a gigabyte, a third of Saily's best rate of $1.80, and there is no Saily plan at that size to compare. Airalo sells 50GB too, at $42.

Saily names no network at all

We previously said Saily's own materials named Cosmote and Vodafone Greece. Reading its site established that they do not. Saily publishes no host network for Greece — or for anywhere else — and its Greek pages name no carrier, promising only "a reliable connection from the country's best networks". That is marketing copy, not a coverage disclosure, and there is nothing behind it to check.

So Saily belongs on the publishes-nothing list, alongside the other sellers who will not say whose radio you are renting. It is not a black mark against the connection; it is a limit on what you can know before you pay.

Greece punishes that uncertainty more than most countries would. The known gaps are the smaller Cyclades and Dodecanese islands, Folegandros, Sikinos and Kastelórizo among them; the mountain interiors of the mainland and Crete; inland Corfu; and long stretches of Aegean ferry route with no signal between islands. Which network a plan lands on changes how much of that you notice, and Saily gives you no answer.

The practical response is not to shop harder. It is to download offline maps and ferry schedules before you leave a port, and to treat mid-crossing data as a bonus.

Verdict

Buy Saily in Greece for the shape of its two small plans, and for nothing else. The 3GB month at $9.99 is genuinely the right product for a long, low-data island trip, and no rival sells anything like it. The 1GB week at $4.49 no longer has a case, now that Nomad sells the same gigabyte over the same week for $4.00.

At 5GB and above there is no argument for it at all. It is the dearest of the three main providers at every size they share, beaten by Nomad by $3 to $15 and by Airalo at all three sizes, and if you are going to use a lot of data across a month, Nomad's 50GB at $31 is better value than anything Saily sells. The 10GB and 20GB plans in particular were the ones we used to point people at on price, and at $22.99 and $35.99 that recommendation no longer holds.

And before any of this: Greece is in the EU. If your normal SIM is from an EU or EEA country it roams here at domestic rates and you need nothing. If it is not, a Greek SIM bought locally needs no ID and costs around $15 at the airport — more than the 3GB plan above, but it comes with a Greek number.
