eSIMCard in Denmark: what we can and can't tell you

Start with what we don't have

Our Denmark dataset contains no eSIMCard plans. Not an unverified one, not a stale one — nothing. We track eSIMCard elsewhere, so this is a gap in our Denmark coverage rather than evidence the provider has left the country, but it does mean we cannot quote you a single eSIMCard price for Denmark and will not invent one.

An earlier version of this page named TDC and Telenor as eSIMCard's host networks. That claim was not sourced from eSIMCard and we have removed it. The same earlier listing said hotspot tethering is supported, which is worth confirming at checkout rather than taking from us.

What we can do is give you the numbers eSIMCard has to beat. Take these to its product page and see where it lands.

Why we hold no eSIMCard price anywhere now

This blank used to be specific to Denmark. It no longer is. We carried 78 eSIMCard rows across 31 countries; on 18 August 2026 we read eSIMCard's own pages and found them wrong, and every one of those rows has been withdrawn from the tables and from the cheapest-per-gigabyte ranking.

We could not replace them with the right figures either. eSIMCard prices the same size over the same duration at two or three different amounts, depending on a Standard/Universal toggle, a per-plan speed limit hidden inside each plan's details modal, and carrier sets that vary plan by plan. Our records hold only provider, size, days and price, so any single figure we stored would flatten a throttled plan and a full-speed one into one row. Our eSIMCard page sets out the reasoning.

None of that is a verdict on the shop. eSIMCard has a working checkout, a catalogue far wider than our rows ever showed, and it is the only one of the six sellers here that publishes the host network its plans use — its Japan page names three Japanese operators, where Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name none anywhere. What we have no read of is its Denmark listing, which is why this page still prices the market instead.

The prices eSIMCard needs to undercut

The Airalo figures were read off Airalo's own site on 13 August 2026 and the Nomad figures off Nomad's on 17 August 2026. The Saily rows were read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026.

Two things fall out of that table. The cheapest option changes with size — Airalo takes 5GB and 50GB, Nomad takes 10GB and 20GB — and every one of those figures has now been read off the seller's own site. An earlier version of this page said Nomad was cheapest at every size from 5GB up, on prices we had not verified. It is not, and the large-plan figure that argument rested on was $16 too low. And Denmark is not an expensive eSIM market: $11 buys a verified 5GB for a month. Any eSIMCard quote materially above these lines is not worth paying.

One quirk worth pocketing: Airalo charges $17.50 for 10GB whether you take 15 days or 30. If you end up on Airalo, there is no reason to buy the shorter one.

For unlimited data, Holafly's verified ladder runs from $6.90 for a single day to $73.90 for 30. Airalo's verified unlimited is $11.50 for 3 days and $71 for 30 — cheaper than Holafly at the short end, dearer at the long end.

The network, and why it isn't the deciding factor

We hold no host network for eSIMCard in Denmark. We hold none for Saily, Airalo or Nomad either. We hold none for Holafly either: the TDC, Telia and Telenor trio this page used to carry against it came from our own data rather than from Holafly, which names no carrier in any country.

So if eSIMCard's page advertises a particular Danish network, treat it as the company's claim. It may well be accurate. It is not something we can corroborate, and it is not a reason to pay a premium — especially in a country where four networks operate (TDC/YouSee, Telia, Telenor and 3) and urban coverage from any of them is strong.

Where Danish coverage actually thins

Denmark is small, flat and densely networked, which makes the failure points specific rather than general:

• Remote Jutland heathlands
• Some of the smaller islands — Bornholm itself has good coverage
• Parts of the Wadden Sea tidal flats

The Faroe Islands are a separate network entirely. A Denmark eSIM should not be assumed to work there; if the Faroes are on your itinerary, check the provider's coverage list before you fly rather than after you land.

What we would actually do

If you have already decided on eSIMCard, compare its checkout price against the table above before paying — that is the whole value this page can offer you honestly.

If you are still choosing, the shortlist is Airalo at 5GB and 50GB or Nomad at 10GB and 20GB — both providers' Danish prices are checked, so it is a straight comparison rather than a gamble. A local prepaid SIM runs about $13 at the airport, which is more than Airalo's 5GB month and comes with a registration requirement: Denmark asks for a passport or ID document, so it is a counter transaction, not a rack purchase.
