Saily in Denmark: the cheapest way in, and now cheap in the middle too

Five plans, all now checked

Saily sells five metered Denmark plans. Every price below was read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026.

Four of those five are new. Our old records had Saily's Danish ladder two dollars high at three sizes and did not know the 20GB month existed at all. None of the old figures had been read off Saily; they were part of a generated set that gave Saily suspiciously round, suspiciously identical numbers in country after country.

The corrected ladder also does what Saily's ladder does everywhere we have now checked it: the largest plan is the cheapest per gigabyte. At $1.40 the 20GB month is less than half the rate of the 3GB one.

The one tier where Saily is unbeatable

1GB over 7 days for $3.99. Nothing in our Denmark data costs less. The nearest thing is Airalo's 1GB at $4 — a verified price, read from Airalo's site on 13 August 2026 — but that one expires after 3 days rather than 7. Nomad's 1GB runs the same week for $4.50.

For a two-day stopover or a light week where the hotel wifi does most of the work, Saily's entry plan is the right size of purchase in a market that mostly wants to sell you 5GB.

The middle of the ladder is now competitive

That is a different page from the one this used to be. On our old figures Saily was $1.99 above Airalo at 5GB and $3.99 above Nomad at 10GB, and the conclusion was that everything above the entry plan was a mistake. On real prices Saily is the cheapest 3GB month in Denmark and, by a single cent, the cheapest 5GB month.

Where it still loses is volume. Nomad's 10GB at $16 and 20GB at $20 are well clear, and Airalo's 50GB month at $35 — 70 cents a gigabyte — is the cheapest data in the country by a distance Saily does not approach.

The validity argument, and why it is weaker than it looks

Saily's obvious defence at 5GB used to be the clock: everything from 3GB up carries 30 days, while cheap rivals often sell short windows. In Denmark that defence was never needed and is not needed now.

Airalo's Danish pricing charges very little for time. Its 5GB costs $10 for 7 days, $10.50 for 15 and $11 for 30 — a dollar to quadruple the window, all three verified. Saily's $10.99 for the same 5GB over the same 30 days is simply a cent cheaper, not a different trade.

Where the 30 days do earn something is on a trip with a gap in the middle — arrive, leave for Sweden or Norway for a week, come back. A plan still alive on your return is worth more than the cent it saves you.

Data only, tethering on, network unknown

Saily's Denmark plans include no calls or SMS. That is data-only in the ordinary sense: WhatsApp, Signal and the rest work fine, and you get no Danish number. Hotspot tethering is supported across the plans, and it eats the same allowance — the 1GB plan will not survive a tethered laptop.

Saily also sells unlimited-data plans for Denmark, at five, seven, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and thirty days. We hold no price for any of them, so nothing on this page tells you what Saily's unlimited tier costs.

Saily does not publish a host network for Denmark, and it does not publish one anywhere — we hold no operator against a single Saily row in any country. Neither does Nomad, and neither does Airalo. Nor does Holafly, which used to be the exception in our Denmark data: its own pages point at no carrier, and the TDC, Telia and Telenor trio we carried against it came from our own older records rather than from Holafly.

Danish coverage is good across the mainland and main islands, and Bornholm is well served. The thin spots are remote Jutland heathland, some of the smaller islands and parts of the Wadden Sea tidal flats. If your trip goes to those places, understand that no travel eSIM here — Saily included — can tell you which carrier you would be riding on. Only a local SIM lets you choose.

Do you need to buy anything?

Denmark is in the EU. If your phone plan is issued in the EU or EEA, roam-like-at-home applies and your normal allowance travels with you, subject to a fair-use cap. Check the cap before you spend $3.99, let alone $27.99.

If you are coming from further afield, a Danish prepaid starter is about $13 at the airport, sold by TDC/YouSee, Telia, Telenor and 3. Registration requires a passport or ID, so it is a counter transaction with a queue attached. That $13 sits above Saily's 1GB and above its 3GB month.

Verdict

Buy Saily in Denmark up to 5GB. The $3.99 1GB is the cheapest thing on the board, the $7.99 3GB month undercuts Nomad, and the $10.99 5GB month shades Airalo by a cent.

From 10GB up, buy Nomad: $16 and $20 against Saily's $17.99 and $27.99. For a long or heavy stay, Airalo's 50GB at $35 is the cheapest rate in Denmark at 70 cents a gigabyte, with Nomad's 50GB at $45 the only other plan under a dollar. The full provider spread is on our Denmark hub.
