TDC / YouSee Denmark SIM card: what YouSee offers and what it does not say

YouSee's eSIM page needs a MitID login and describes a mobile subscription. We found no prepaid or tourist SIM and no mention of TDC.

Is a TDC YouSee Denmark SIM card an option for a visitor?

Not that we could verify. The name is a lead from our own notes, which list "TDC / YouSee" as one carrier. On YouSee's pages we read on 8 October 2026, there is no mention of TDC at all, and the mobile pages are for subscription customers. We did not find a prepaid (kontantkort) SIM or a tourist SIM. A mobile page at YouSee's prepaid address loaded as a title only, so we cannot say what it offers.

What does YouSee say about eSIM?

YouSee's eSIM guide says you order an eSIM free in Mit YouSee and log in with MitID. If you have no YouSee login, you must create one first. The steps:

  • check the phone supports eSIM by dialling *#06# and looking for an EID number;
  • use two devices, for example a computer to order and the phone to activate, both on Wi-Fi, with the latest software;
  • receive the eSIM in Mit YouSee within an hour, then scan the QR code.

Two warnings matter. Your current SIM stops working as soon as you order the eSIM, and only one SIM or eSIM can be active at a time. If a number is being moved to YouSee, the eSIM can only be activated on the day of the move. The page does not mention a CPR number, prepaid or visitors.

For a visitor, MitID is the sticking point. It is a Danish digital ID, and the page does not say whether a visitor can get one or order any other way. Do not plan to rely on it.

What does YouSee say about coverage and 5G?

The eSIM guide makes no network, 4G or 5G claims. Our network notes call Danish coverage excellent in general, but we have not confirmed a YouSee figure on its site, so we do not quote one.

Where does that leave a short visit?

If your stay is short, a travel eSIM installed before you fly is more reliable than a Danish subscription eSIM, because it needs no MitID and no Danish number. For other Danish networks see 3 Denmark, Telenor Denmark and Telia Denmark. Our Denmark SIM card comparison lays out the practical options, where to buy a SIM card in Denmark covers the shops, and the Denmark hub has the rest. Travel eSIM prices are on the cheapest eSIM page.

Common questions

Can a visitor get a TDC YouSee Denmark SIM card, and is YouSee the same as TDC?

The YouSee pages we read do not mention TDC, so we cannot confirm the relationship from YouSee's own site. Our notes list them together as one carrier, but that is unverified. Treat the TDC label as a lead, not a fact, and check YouSee directly.

Does YouSee sell a prepaid SIM for tourists?

We did not find one. The YouSee eSIM guide we read covers mobile subscriptions, and a page at YouSee's prepaid address loaded only a title. That does not prove none exists, so check YouSee. A travel eSIM is the verified route for a short stay.

Do I need MitID for a YouSee eSIM?

Yes. YouSee's guide says you log in to Mit YouSee with MitID, and create a login first if you have none. MitID is a Danish digital ID, and the guide does not say how a visitor would get one.

What happens to my old SIM when I order a YouSee eSIM?

It stops working as soon as the eSIM order goes through, according to YouSee. Only one SIM or eSIM can be active at a time. Be on Wi-Fi before you order, because you will need it to activate the new eSIM.

Is a YouSee eSIM free?

YouSee's guide says you order the eSIM free in Mit YouSee. That is for a mobile subscription. Prices for the subscription itself are on YouSee's site, and we did not read them.
