Holafly in Vietnam: unlimited by the day, with cheaper options either side

What it costs

Holafly sells only unlimited data in Vietnam. There is no metered plan, no set number of gigabytes — just six durations, read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction. This page used to print $11.70, $19.50 and $27.30 for the first three plans and made its headline out of them being exactly $3.90 a day — a flat rate up to a week, with nothing to gain by rounding a trip up. There is no flat rate. Five days is the worst-value rung on the ladder at $4.10 a day, more than three days costs, and every figure in the old table was wrong. They came from our own generated dataset rather than from Holafly.

This is also the identical six-price ladder Holafly charges across most of Europe and in Japan, Singapore and Indonesia, to the cent. Vietnam gets no discount for being a cheap market.

Calls and SMS are not included; messaging apps run over the data. Our older text said hotspot tethering was supported, which came from the same source as the wrong prices — check the terms if you need it.

Cheaper unlimited exists at every length

Vietnam has more unlimited competition than most markets, and Holafly is at the top of the price list at every duration.

Among the verified sellers, Airalo undercuts Holafly at all six lengths and Nomad at both of the two it sells. An eSIMCard column used to sit below all of them; those rows have been withdrawn, because we read eSIMCard's own pages on 18 August 2026 and the figures we held were not the ones it charges.

What unlimited is worth against counted data

The deeper question is whether you need unlimited in Vietnam at all. Airalo's verified 10GB month costs $18, Nomad's $17 and Saily's $17.99; Airalo's 50GB month is $49 and Nomad's $39, against $73.90 for thirty days of unlimited from Holafly. Most people on a phone do not move 50GB in a month.

The case for Holafly is the trip where counting is the problem: uploading video from the road, or a connection you never want to think about. There, the ceiling is the product, and running dry halfway up the Ha Giang Loop costs more than the price difference. The case against is that in Vietnam the alternatives are unusually cheap, at both ends of the market — and two of them sell the same uncapped product for less.

The network listing, and why it cannot decide this

Holafly's own material points to no carrier behind its Vietnamese eSIM. Our data used to carry GPC Vinaphone (VNPT) against the three- and five-day plans and nothing against the rest; that gap was the clue, and reading Holafly's own pages settled it — the company names no operator for Vietnam, or for any of the countries we checked.

That matters because Vietnam's coverage question has a specific answer. Cities, the coast and the main highways are fine on anything. The gaps are the Sapa trekking routes, the Ha Giang Loop, the deeper karst channels of Ha Long Bay and the rural Mekong Delta waterways — and Viettel is the only carrier with reliable 4G across most remote areas of the country.

With no listing at all, there is nothing to tell you how a Holafly eSIM behaves in those places, in either direction. If remote coverage is the reason for the purchase, buy a local prepaid SIM from the carrier you have chosen: about $7 at the airport, passport required to register. Buying the eSIM needs no ID at all.

Verdict

Holafly is simple, and the range is easy to buy. It is also the most expensive unlimited plan in our Vietnam table at every single length, in a market where a week of unlimited data is listed at $19.99 and a local SIM costs $7.

If you want uncapped data, Airalo undercuts Holafly at all six windows and Nomad at five and ten days. If you do not, Nomad's verified 10GB month at $17 does most trips for less than a quarter of Holafly's month. The Vietnam hub has all of them side by side.
