Gmobile Vietnam SIM card: what we could verify
Gmobile is a Vietnamese network whose site shows an eSIM conversion guide and bold network claims, but no prices or tourist plan.
Is a Gmobile Vietnam SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
We cannot recommend it with confidence. Gmobile's website shows it is operating, but the page we read gives no prices, no tourist plan and no registration rules. For a visitor with a short stay, it offers little that we can verify.
What does Gmobile's site say?
We read Gmobile's homepage on 8 October 2026. In Vietnamese, it shows:
- It is operating. It lists a Hanoi address, hotlines and recent news.
- Network claims. It says it has 50,000 telecom stations, 3 data centres, 20,000 customers and coverage in 63 provinces. These are Gmobile's own claims, and we could not check them. The numbers sit oddly together, so treat them with care.
- eSIM. An "eSIM conversion" guide is listed, so eSIM appears to be supported, but the steps were not shown.
- Prepaid. A top-up guide suggests prepaid service, but the page does not confirm it.
- Registration. A subscriber registration guide is linked but its content was not shown.
- Prices. None. Packages are shown by phone number prefix.
It does not mention Reddi or a tourist SIM.
What we could not verify
Whether a visitor can buy a Gmobile SIM, where it is sold, what a foreign passport must show, and what any plan costs. Ask in a Gmobile outlet or call its hotline before building a plan around it. Our network notes list Gmobile among the carriers with strong 4G, which is an unverified lead.
Gmobile compared with a travel eSIM
A travel eSIM is the simpler option because it needs no registration counter. See our Vietnam SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM page. For carriers that publish a tourist offer, read Viettel or Vietnamobile, and see Reddi and the Vietnam hub.
Bottom line
Our verdict on the Gmobile Vietnam SIM card is that we could verify only that Gmobile operates and mentions an eSIM guide. Check Gmobile prepaid and Gmobile coverage claims yourself.
Common questions
Is Gmobile still operating in Vietnam?
Its website suggests so: the homepage we read lists a Hanoi address, hotlines and recent news. We cannot verify its network claims, such as 50,000 stations and coverage in 63 provinces, from the page alone. Check with Gmobile before relying on it.
Does Gmobile have an eSIM?
Its homepage lists an eSIM conversion guide, so eSIM appears to be supported, but the steps and eligibility were not shown on the page we read. We cannot say whether visitors can use it. Ask Gmobile before you plan around it.
Does Gmobile sell a tourist SIM?
We found no tourist or visitor SIM on Gmobile's homepage, and no prices. If you want a local SIM with a published tourist offer, read about Viettel and Vietnamobile, or use a travel eSIM bought before you fly. Check the carrier's own page before you buy.
Do I need a passport to register a Gmobile SIM?
Gmobile's homepage links a subscriber registration guide, but its content was not shown, so we cannot say what a foreign visitor must provide. Vietnam requires SIM registration, so bring your original passport and ask Gmobile or an outlet before you buy.
Is Gmobile coverage good in Vietnam?
Gmobile claims 50,000 telecom stations and coverage in 63 provinces, but those are its own claims and we cannot check them. Its homepage shows no coverage map. Compare with Viettel and Mobifone before relying on it away from cities. Check the carrier's own page before you buy.
