Holafly in Sweden: unlimited data, and last place at every length

What Holafly sells in Sweden

One product, priced by time rather than by data. Every Holafly Sweden plan is unlimited, and the only decision is how many days you buy. There are no calls or SMS — it is a data plan, and WhatsApp or similar carries your calls over it.

A correction, and it removes the whole spine of this page. We previously listed seven durations — one day at $6.90, then 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 90 — and the review was built around a $22 step between the 20-day and 25-day plans, with advice to price the 90-day plan instead if your trip ran past twenty days. Holafly sells none of those four lengths. Its range is 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days, here and everywhere. There is no kink to avoid and no 90-day plan to buy, and the durations that do exist were all underpriced: five days is $20.50, not $18.90.

The real ladder has one small oddity: five days costs more per day than three, because $8.60 buys two extra days.

Unlimited against metered, in numbers

Unlimited is a premium product in Sweden, and the size of the premium is easy to miss. Holafly's five-day plan is $20.50. Airalo's 5GB for seven days is $9, read from Airalo's own site. For most travel patterns — maps, messaging, ride-hailing, a few videos — 5GB comfortably covers a week, which makes unlimited more than double the cost of enough.

At the top end, Airalo's verified 50GB month is $42 and Nomad's 20GB month is $20, against $73.90 for thirty uncapped days.

This page used to say Holafly was ahead everywhere past the first week — $27.90 against $34.50 at ten days, $36.90 against $49 at fifteen. Those Holafly figures were not read from Holafly. On the real ones it is the dearest of the three at all six lengths, and Nomad is cheapest wherever it competes.

No hotspot, and in Sweden that matters

Holafly does not support tethering on its Sweden plans. Its own description puts this at network level rather than as a setting anyone can flip, so there is no workaround at your end.

Think about what that rules out. A laptop working from a Stockholm café, a travelling pair sharing one connection, a tablet on a long train to Kiruna — none of those work on a Holafly plan. If any of them describe your trip, buy metered data from a provider whose terms permit sharing, and read those terms. Unlimited data you cannot share is a narrower product than it sounds.

The network question

No provider in our Sweden data names a host network, Holafly included. Our records used to show Telia, Tele2 and Telenor against most of its plans, but not all of them — an inconsistency that was the giveaway. Reading Holafly's own pages settled it: the company names no carrier for Sweden, or for any of the countries we checked, so that trio was ours rather than Holafly's and cannot decide your purchase.

What is true regardless: Telia has the widest 4G and 5G population coverage in Sweden and the strongest rural and archipelago reach, while Tele2 and Telenor share the Net4Mobility network, which switched 5G on across its full footprint in September 2025 at 99.9% population and 90% landmass coverage. Sweden's weak spots are Lapland wilderness and fjäll above the treeline, remote archipelago islands, dense forest in Dalarna and Norrland away from roads, and some cross-country ski trails. No travel eSIM lets you choose which of those networks you land on.

Verdict

We would not buy Holafly for Sweden. Nomad sells the same uncapped product for $0.90 to $3.50 less at every length up to ten days; Airalo is cheaper at all six and covers the fortnight and the month. The long-stay plan this page recommended does not exist.

If your trip is short enough that 5GB would do, $9 buys it against $20.50 for five uncapped days. A Swedish prepaid SIM is around $10 at the airport, though registration has been mandatory since August 2022 and needs a passport.
