Saily in Sweden: a penny under Airalo at nearly every size

The cheapest Sweden eSIM at four of its five sizes

Saily holds the lowest entry price in our Sweden data: $3.99 for 1GB over seven days. The next cheapest is Airalo at $4 for 1GB over three days.

A penny. That is the entire margin behind the "cheapest Sweden eSIM" line, and the pattern repeats up the ladder: at 5GB Saily is $9.99 against Airalo's $10.00, and at 10GB it is $15.99 against Airalo's $16.00 and Nomad's $16.00. Three sizes, one cent each time. Whatever produces that, it is not two companies pricing independently.

The part of the entry comparison that does matter is the validity. Saily gives you seven days on its 1GB plan where Airalo gives three. For a long weekend that stretches, or a trip where you only want data for the arrival and the odd map lookup, four extra days for the same money is a real advantage.

The ladder, corrected

Four of the five rows are new. This page used to argue that Saily was "the most expensive ladder in Sweden" and 25–30% dearer than Airalo at 5GB and 10GB. That was built on the $12.99 and $19.99 above, neither of which Saily has ever charged in Sweden. The figures came from a generated record that assigned Saily the same handful of round numbers across dozens of countries — the same record that claimed Saily's 1GB costs a flat $3.99 nearly everywhere, when the real range across the forty-eight countries we have now checked runs from $1.99 to $8.99.

The corrected ladder also behaves the way Saily's ladder behaves everywhere we have checked it: the biggest plan is the cheapest per gigabyte. At $1.35 the 20GB month is well under half the rate of the 3GB one.

Against the rest of the market

• 3GB / 30 days: Saily $6.99, Nomad $9. Airalo does not sell 3GB over 30 days at all — its 3GB plans run three days ($6.50) and seven ($7) — so Saily is the cheapest month-long 3GB in the country by two dollars.
• 5GB / 30 days: Saily $9.99, Airalo $10, Nomad $12.50.
• 10GB / 30 days: Saily $15.99, Airalo $16, Nomad $16.
• 20GB / 30 days: Nomad $20, Saily $26.99, Airalo $27.

The 20GB row is the one clear loss. Nomad is seven dollars under Saily for the same allowance over the same month, and it is the plan to buy at that size. Above 20GB Saily sells nothing; Airalo's 50GB month at $42 is 84 cents a gigabyte and the cheapest rate in Sweden.

Saily also sells unlimited-data plans for Sweden, at lengths from five to thirty days. We hold no price for any of them, so nothing on this page tells you what Saily's unlimited tier costs.

The network: not published, and that is normal here

Saily does not publish which Swedish network its plans roam onto. Our data holds none for it, and not only for Sweden — we hold no host network against a single Saily row in any of the forty-eight countries we cover. An earlier version of this page named Telia and Tele2; nothing supported that, and it has been removed.

Airalo, Nomad and Holafly publish nothing either; the host network our data once listed against Holafly's Sweden rows came from our own older text, not from Holafly. So nobody buying a travel eSIM for Sweden is choosing a carrier, whatever the marketing implies.

In Sweden that costs you less than it would elsewhere. Telia has the widest 4G and 5G population coverage and the strongest rural and archipelago reach; Tele2 and Telenor share the Net4Mobility network, which has run 5G across its full footprint since September 2025, reaching 99.9% of the population and 90% of the landmass. The average speed nationally is about 75 Mbps. The gaps are specific and mostly off the tourist map: Lapland wilderness and fjäll above the treeline, remote archipelago islands, dense forest in Dalarna and Norrland away from roads, and some cross-country ski trails through remote forest.

If your trip genuinely depends on signal in the far north, buy a Swedish SIM where you can pick Telia deliberately. Airport packs run about $10, and you will need your passport — Swedish prepaid SIMs have required ID registration since August 2022.

Verdict

Saily is now the default buy in Sweden up to 10GB. At 1GB it is cheapest and lasts longest; at 3GB it is cheapest by two dollars; at 5GB and 10GB it is cheapest by a cent, which in practice means pick either it or Airalo on whichever app you prefer. Tethering is supported across the range.

At 20GB, buy Nomad at $20. Above that, Airalo's 50GB at $42.
