eSIM Go in Morocco: nothing on sale, and no network we can name

What we can stand behind

One thing, and it is not what this page used to say. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers rather than to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout — the button says Contact Sales — and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.

So there is no Moroccan product to review and no rate to look up. The older instruction on this page, to go to eSIM Go's own product page for current Morocco rates, pointed at a page that does not exist. Our eSIM Go platform page has the full finding.

Two claims have gone with it. This page opened by stating as confirmed that eSIM Go operates on Maroc Telecom and Orange, and that hotspot tethering is supported. Neither came from eSIM Go, which has no consumer page on which it could have said either. Both came from this site's own generated corpus.

The network nobody will name

Maroc Telecom is the carrier to want as a visitor, and its edge is entirely rural. In Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech and Fes all three Moroccan networks give you 4G and you will not tell them apart. Leave the cities — the Marrakech-to-Merzouga desert road, the Atlas passes, the south — and Maroc Telecom's footprint is the widest of the three.

The country's average speed is around 27 Mbps. Adequate for maps, messaging and video calls; not fast.

What no travel eSIM will do is put you on it deliberately. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none of them names a carrier for Morocco or anywhere else; and we hold no read of eSIMCard's Moroccan listing. The Maroc Telecom and Orange pairing this page once attributed to several sellers came from our own data, not theirs. Nobody in this market has a demonstrable coverage advantage, because nobody discloses what they are running on.

Coverage does run out, and these gaps apply to every plan equally:

• The deep Sahara, including the Merzouga camel trek routes
• Remote High Atlas passes such as Tizi n'Test
• The upper sections of the Dades Gorge
• The far south around Dakhla — reachable, but remote

If your itinerary includes any of these, the fix is offline maps and a downloaded playlist, not a different eSIM.

The yardstick

Hold any Moroccan eSIM against these, including one sold under a brand you have not heard of. Airalo's figures were read from its own site on 13 August 2026 and Nomad's from its own on 17 August 2026; the rest are indicative.

Two numbers matter. At the small end, $2.90 buys a gigabyte; anything much above $5 for 1GB is not competitive. At the large end, Nomad's verified 50GB works out at $0.90 per gigabyte, the best rate we hold for Morocco at any size and the cheapest verified rate in Africa — that is the bar for anyone selling volume. An earlier version of this page set the bar at Airalo's $2.15, which was the best rate we had checked at the time rather than the best in the market.

Holafly is the outlier: unlimited data from $14.50 for three days up to $84.90 for 30, priced by time rather than gigabytes. Different product, different comparison.

Or buy in Morocco

A prepaid SIM at a Moroccan airport typically costs about $12, from Maroc Telecom, Orange Morocco or Inwi. Registration requires your passport — there is no anonymous purchase, so budget time at the counter.

That $12 is more than several eSIMs cost for a short trip, and the eSIM is installed before you land. The local SIM wins on longer stays, where in-country top-ups are cheaper than anything sold to visitors. We do not hold the data allowances on Moroccan prepaid bundles, so we are not going to put a per-gigabyte figure on them.

So, buy it?

You cannot. eSIM Go supplies other brands rather than selling to travellers, and neither of the two things this page once recommended it for — the Maroc Telecom pairing and the hotspot support — was ever sourced from the company.

That leaves the sellers you can actually buy from. Nomad's verified 50GB month at $45 is the best rate we hold for Morocco at any size, and Airalo's verified $6 for 1GB over three days is the cheapest way in. eSIMCard runs a real storefront too, but its prices have been withdrawn from this site — ours were wrong and its catalogue does not fit our records.
