Orange Morocco SIM card: prepaid SIM, eSIM and the Marhaba offers

Orange Morocco sells a prepaid SIM or eSIM with 20 MAD of credit and Marhaba top-ups at 120, 220 and 320 MAD, bought online with a QR code. Read 8 October 2026.

An Orange Morocco SIM card is a prepaid SIM or eSIM that you can order online, and Orange has a visitor-flavoured page called Marhaba that points straight at it. The eSIM option is the interesting part for a short stay, since the QR code arrives by email and you can be set up without a shop visit. What the pages do not say is which identity documents you need.

This is desk research from Orange Morocco's public pages, read on 8 October 2026. We have not tested the service.

What can a visitor buy with an Orange Morocco SIM card?

Orange's online prepaid page offers a physical SIM or an eSIM, each with 20 MAD of credit, no commitment, and a validity of up to three months. It lists Marhaba offers at 120, 220 and 320 MAD. The Marhaba page says "eSIM with unlimited internet" and starts at 120 MAD, but gives no data volume, so we cannot say what unlimited means in practice or how long each offer lasts beyond the three-month validity. Orange's travel page shows a 40 GB icon and a price badge that is ambiguous, so confirm the amount at checkout.

A physical SIM can be delivered free anywhere in Morocco, which is useful once you have an address but not on arrival day.

Can a tourist get an Orange Morocco eSIM?

Orange's eSIM page says any customer can have one, whether or not they are with Orange, as long as the phone is compatible; it does not mention tourists specifically. Online, the QR code is emailed within minutes of payment and you scan it to start using the line. In store you pay and scan the QR code on your voucher. Orange says the eSIM does not work in smartwatches and lists compatible phones as non-exhaustive.

What ID does Orange ask for?

The checkout asks you to enter "identification details" and the Marhaba page does not say which documents are needed. Treat passport registration as likely but unconfirmed. Ask in an Orange shop.

What does Orange say about coverage?

Orange describes its prepaid network as 5G/4G+ and its travel page as the best 4G/5G network, which are marketing claims without figures or a map on the pages we read. We cannot confirm that Orange has the fastest 5G, or compare it with Maroc Telecom's reach in the Atlas or the desert.

How does it compare with a travel eSIM in Morocco?

An Orange Morocco SIM card gives you a local number and Orange Money top-ups. A travel eSIM is bought before you fly, so you land connected, which matters when airport shops are busy. Our Morocco SIM card comparison sets the options side by side, and cheapest eSIM covers data-only plans. We do not name the local network behind travel eSIMs unless the provider publishes it. For arrival logistics see Marrakech Airport and Casablanca Airport.

The other Moroccan carriers in this series are Maroc Telecom and Inwi. The Morocco hub links the rest.
