Maroc Telecom Morocco SIM card: Jawal prepaid and eSIM
Maroc Telecom's prepaid brand is Jawal. Its site blocked our page reads, so this page is short and flags what we could not confirm.
A Maroc Telecom Morocco SIM card is a Jawal prepaid card, and this is the page in the series where we have to be most careful: iam.ma returned an access-denied error (HTTP 403) when we tried to open its e-SIM, Pass Jawal and Jawal pages on 8 October 2026. What follows comes from excerpts of those pages seen in search results, not from reading them in full, so treat it as a lead to check.
We have not tested the service.
What does a Maroc Telecom Morocco SIM card offer visitors?
The excerpts describe the Jawal range as sold at Maroc Telecom commercial agencies and authorised points of sale. A new Jawal card is shown as valid for six months, with a further six months to top up and keep the number. A Pass Jawal pack of 4 GB for 15 days appeared in the excerpt, along with top-ups of 5, 10 and 50 MAD for unlimited social media. None of the excerpts gave a tourist price, an airport shop list or a visitor-specific plan.
Is there a Maroc Telecom e-SIM?
The e-SIM page excerpt says Maroc Telecom offers an e-SIM at the same price as the physical SIM, that a compatible smartphone is needed, and that once in Morocco you place a first call to activate the line. We could not open the page to confirm the price or who can buy it.
What ID does Maroc Telecom require?
We could not find the requirement on any Maroc Telecom page we could read. Do not assume either way. Carry your passport and ask at an agency.
What does Maroc Telecom say about coverage?
Nothing we could verify. Lists elsewhere describe it as the widest network, including the Atlas and desert approaches, but we have no Maroc Telecom source for that. If you are driving to Merzouga, check its coverage map for your route and see our Merzouga guide.
How does it compare with a travel eSIM in Morocco?
A Maroc Telecom Morocco SIM card would give you a Moroccan number and its own top-up system, but on today's evidence we cannot list a price or ID rule. A travel eSIM lists both before you buy. Our Morocco SIM card comparison sets the options side by side, and cheapest eSIM covers data-only plans. We do not name the local network behind travel eSIMs unless the provider publishes it. For arrival logistics see Marrakech Airport and Casablanca Airport.
The other Moroccan carriers in this series are Orange Morocco and Inwi. The Morocco hub links the rest.
Common questions
Is a Maroc Telecom Morocco SIM card good for tourists?
We cannot say from its own pages. Maroc Telecom's site blocked our requests, and search excerpts show a Jawal prepaid range sold at agencies and authorised points. No tourist price, airport outlet or ID rule was visible to us. Check with an agency, or compare other carriers on our Morocco page.
Does Maroc Telecom have an eSIM?
A search excerpt of its e-SIM page says yes, at the same price as the physical SIM, with a compatible phone needed and a first call in Morocco to activate. We could not open the page, so confirm the price and eligibility with Maroc Telecom.
How long is a Jawal prepaid card valid?
Excerpts of the Jawal page show a new card valid for six months, with six further months to top up and keep the number. We could not open the page ourselves, so treat that as unconfirmed and check on iam.ma or in an agency.
Do I need a passport for a Maroc Telecom SIM?
We found no Maroc Telecom page we could read that states the documents required. Bring your passport to a Maroc Telecom agency and ask what registration they need for a visitor. We do not guess identification rules for foreign visitors, and you should not rely on another website's version of them.
Is Maroc Telecom better than Orange or Inwi in Morocco?
We cannot confirm it. Maroc Telecom's coverage reputation in the Atlas and desert is not supported by a page we could read. Orange and Inwi publish eSIM and prepaid pages that we read. Check each coverage map for your route.
