Saily in Morocco: $8.99 for a gigabyte, and Nomad undercuts it everywhere

The five plans

Every price was read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026. This page previously listed two plans at $4.99 and $10.99 and said the range stopped at 3GB. It does not stop at 3GB, and both of those figures were roughly half what Saily charges.

Morocco and Egypt are Saily's two most expensive markets anywhere. The same 1GB week that costs $8.99 here costs $1.99 in Austria and Czechia — the spread our old flat-$3.99 record for every country entirely concealed.

Nomad wins every size, most of them easily

Airalo's Moroccan prices were verified against its own site on 13 August 2026 and Nomad's against its own on 17 August 2026.

Nomad is cheaper at every size, and the gap widens sharply up the ladder: thirteen dollars at 10GB and eighteen at 20GB. Airalo is a cent above Saily at 5, 10 and 20GB, which puts the two of them together at the expensive end of a market Nomad is pricing far below.

Nomad also sells a 50GB month at $45, or 90 cents a gigabyte, which neither Saily nor Airalo matches at any size. Saily's best rate is $2.15.

An earlier version of this page said Saily's 3GB month at $10.99 was three dollars under Nomad's verified $14 and called Saily "a reasonable pick for a two-week city trip". The real price is $15.99 — two dollars over Nomad — and that recommendation is withdrawn.

Saily also sells unlimited-data plans for Morocco, at lengths from five to thirty days. We hold no price for any of them, so nothing on this page tells you what Saily's unlimited tier costs.

Network: Saily publishes none

An earlier version of this page said Saily operates in Morocco on Maroc Telecom and Orange Morocco, and built a section around it. That was wrong. Saily publishes no host network for Morocco, and it publishes none in any of the forty-eight countries we cover — our data holds no operator against a single Saily row anywhere. The attribution has been removed.

Airalo and Nomad name nothing either. Holafly names nothing either. eSIMCard does name Maroc Telecom and Orange in its own listing, but that is a seller's claim nobody has checked with the operators.

That matters here more than it does in most countries. Maroc Telecom is the carrier to want as a visitor: it has the widest coverage, including the Sahara desert approaches, the Atlas Mountains and southern Morocco, and it is the one that counts on a Marrakech-to-Merzouga road trip or a mountain pass. Orange leads on 5G speed. All three Moroccan carriers provide 4G in cities and tourist areas, and the national average speed we record is 27 Mbps — low by European standards, adequate for everything most travellers do. If you want Maroc Telecom specifically, the only way to get it is a Maroc Telecom SIM.

Where nothing works

The gaps are geographic and no eSIM changes them:

• Deep Sahara desert, including the Merzouga camel trek routes
• Remote High Atlas passes such as Tizi n'Test
• The upper sections of the Dades Gorge
• The far south — Dakhla is reachable but remote

Download your route offline before leaving the last town. This is the single most useful preparation for a Morocco road trip, more so than the size of your data plan.

What about a local SIM?

A prepaid SIM at a Moroccan airport runs around $12, and you will need your passport to register it. We do not hold the data allowance that comes with it, so we cannot give you a per-gigabyte comparison — and you should be sceptical of anyone who does without saying where the number came from.

What we can say is that $12 is less than Saily charges for a 3GB month, and it gets you a network you have chosen. For a driving trip in the south that is a serious argument.

Verdict

There is no size in Morocco at which we would pick Saily. Nomad's verified ladder is cheaper at all five, by thirteen dollars at 10GB and eighteen at 20GB, and only Nomad sells a 50GB month.

If you want the smallest possible plan, Airalo's verified $6 for 1GB over three days is the cheapest checked one we hold.
