eSIM Go in Indonesia: the lowest figures we hold, on a product not sold to travellers

The recommendation this page used to make

"Buy the 10GB." At $13 for a month it was the lowest figure we hold at that size in Indonesia, six dollars under the cheapest verified rival, and the page called it the only tier here doing anything interesting.

It has been withdrawn, and not because the number moved. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers — travel brands, apps and MVNOs that put their own name on the eSIM — and does not retail to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales where a shop puts Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.

A figure nobody can pay is not the cheapest option in a market; it is outside the market. Listing it beside Nomad, Airalo and Saily compared a wholesale rate card with three shops. The full finding is on our eSIM Go platform page.

The two rows we hold

Nothing under 5GB, nothing over 10GB, no unlimited option, one duration. They stay on the page as a record of what this site published, not as an offer.

What Indonesia actually costs

Every figure below was read off the seller's own site.

Nomad leads Indonesia at every size on prices read at source, and its 20GB and 50GB plans run 45 days rather than 30, which is unusually generous. Airalo's verified 10GB month is $21 and Saily's is $21.99; Airalo's verified 20GB month is $35 and its verified 50GB month is $49.

eSIMCard is a different case, and worth keeping separate. esimcard.com is a working storefront with a checkout, so its prices are ones a traveller can pay. Ours were simply wrong: we read its pages on 18 August 2026 and withdrew all 78 rows. eSIM Go's figures cannot be paid by anyone, ever.

The network we cannot name

An earlier version of this page told you eSIM Go's Indonesia plan sat on Telkomsel and recommended it for that reason. That came from this site's own generated text; eSIM Go has published nothing, and has no consumer page on which it could.

Nobody in this market publishes a host network. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none of them names a carrier for any country — the operators our data once attributed to Holafly's listing were nowhere on Holafly's site. eSIM Go could not name one even if it wanted to, having no consumer page at all.

This is not a small point in Indonesia specifically, because network choice genuinely changes what works. Coverage across the archipelago is thin outside the main tourist corridors: most of the 17,000-plus islands have no service, and the remote Raja Ampat dive sites, the Flores interior, most of Papua, interior Kalimantan and the Sumatra highlands are dead zones on any network. On southern Bali, Lombok's main towns, Yogyakarta or Jakarta, almost anything works. Past that, the carrier matters and no travel eSIM will tell you which one you are getting.

If that decides your trip, buy locally rather than remotely. At a counter you choose the carrier by name.

The comparison every eSIM loses here

A prepaid Indonesian tourist SIM costs about $5 at the airport, from Telkomsel, XL Axiata, Indosat Ooredoo, Smartfren or Three, and typically bundles more data than an eSIM at that price. Nomad's verified 5GB month at $12 is more than twice the money.

What you buy with the difference is the passport desk. Indonesian prepaid SIMs must be registered against your passport, in person, and Denpasar arrivals can be a slow twenty minutes when three flights land together. A travel eSIM needs no passport at purchase and activates before you fly. For a short trip, a late landing, or a phone with one SIM slot you would rather not empty, that is a fair trade. For a month in Canggu, $5 against $12 starts to look like real money.

Verdict

There is nothing to buy from eSIM Go, and the "buy the 10GB" verdict has gone with its premise rather than being caveated.
