eSIM Go does not sell to travellers
Before anything else on this page: eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers, not to the public. We opened esim-go.com on 18 August 2026 and found no consumer price anywhere on the site — no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales where a shop puts Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.
So there is no Hungary plan to price, no product page for you to check, and nothing on eSIM Go's site to hold against the market below. The 34 rows we do hold for it, spread across 16 large countries, cannot be verified for the same reason: there is no published consumer price to read them against. The disclosure comes first
Our Hungary plan data contains 26 rows across four providers. None of them belongs to eSIM Go. We hold no verified prices for it in this country, no indicative ones, and no record of which network its Hungarian profile roams onto.
That is a gap in our coverage, not a criticism of the product, and the honest response is to say so rather than fill it. An earlier version of this page carried a price and a carrier name for eSIM Go in Hungary; both came from generated text that we later found to be about 90% wrong on price wherever it could be checked against a provider's own site. They have been removed.
There is no eSIM Go product page to read a Hungary price off. Its plans do change, and a comparison site quoting you a precise figure it cannot source is worth less than no figure at all. What we can give you is a yardstick.
Before you buy anything, check your own contract
Hungary is in the EU. An EU or EEA phone contract roams there at home rates under roam-like-at-home, which for most European visitors makes the entire travel eSIM market irrelevant. Look up your fair-use data cap, and if it covers your trip, stop here. This page is for travellers from outside the EU and EEA, and for anyone whose contract bills separately for European roaming.

Two reference points do most of the work. At the small end, Airalo's verified 5GB for 30 days is $12 and Saily's verified equivalent is $11.99, so anything priced well above that for the same shape of plan is out of line. At the top end, Airalo's verified 50GB for 30 days at $36 sets a hard ceiling: 72 cents a gigabyte. If eSIM Go's large plans cost more than that per gigabyte, there is no reason to take them.
Compare on the same allowance and the same validity window, which is where these comparisons usually go wrong. A cheaper plan with a shorter window is not a cheaper plan if your trip outlasts it.
The network, and why we are not naming one
We hold no host network for eSIM Go in Hungary. The carriers previously listed here came from the same unreliable source as the price, so they went with it, and we will not infer a replacement — the gap between a marketing claim and a verified routing arrangement is the one this site exists to maintain.
In practice Hungary is forgiving about it. Budapest, Lake Balaton's main resorts, Eger, Pécs, the Danube Bend and the motorways are covered well by all three national operators, and any competent travel eSIM will be usable across that. The places where the choice starts to matter are narrow and known: the remote Zemplén Mountains in the north-east, some dead spots along Balaton's southern shore, and the deep sections of the Aggtelek caves, where nothing works regardless. If you are hiking the Zemplén, the safe answer is a local SIM on a carrier you picked deliberately.
The option that beats all of them on price
A Hungarian prepaid SIM costs about $8 at the airport, with no ID required and no registration to sit through — you buy it and it works. That is cheaper than most of the eSIM plans in the table above and it comes with a Hungarian number.
What it costs you is the twenty minutes on arrival and the lack of data while you find the shop. That trade is the real decision in Hungary, and it applies to eSIM Go as much as to anyone. The full comparison sits on our Hungary hub.
Verdict
We cannot rank a provider whose prices we do not hold, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Take whatever quote you are offered — some smaller apps and travel brands resell wholesale capacity under their own name — put it against the table above at the same size and window, and check the cost per gigabyte against 72 cents. If it clears both tests it is a reasonable buy. If your contract is European, you probably need none of this.
