eSIMCard in Egypt: the cheapest number on the page has gone

This review opened on eSIMCard's one-gigabyte three-day plan as the lowest price in our Egypt data, and worked outwards from it. That row and the three-gigabyte week above it have both been withdrawn — removed from the table here and from the cheapest-per-gigabyte ranking across the site.

The word those rows carried was indicative: our number rather than one read at a checkout, but close enough to quote. That is precisely what turned out not to be true. We read eSIMCard's own pages on 18 August 2026 and found the entry plan our data repeated at one price across fifteen unrelated countries goes for well under half that on its Japanese page. "Indicative" describes a figure that might be roughly right. We now have direct evidence ours was not.

Nor could we simply substitute the correct figures. Our records have room for a provider, a size, a number of days and a price, and eSIMCard prices the same size over the same days at two or three different amounts — depending on a Standard/Universal toggle that swaps the entire catalogue between product lines, on a per-plan speed limit hidden inside each plan's details modal, and on carrier sets that change from one plan to the next. Storing one price per size would assert that a throttled plan and a full-speed plan are the same product. The reasoning is set out on our eSIMCard page.

What an eSIM for Egypt actually costs

Airalo and Saily were read on 13 August 2026, Nomad on 17 August 2026. Take these to eSIMCard's checkout and judge what you find there against them.

Network and tethering

The carriers our own records held against eSIMCard's Egyptian rows came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, so we no longer present them as its arrangement.

Vodafone Egypt and Orange are the two networks worth wanting here, and a plan reaching both would be the best available position. Vodafone carries the widest nationwide coverage and the most reliable 4G in tourist areas, including Luxor, Aswan, Sinai and the Red Sea resorts, and it is the network to want on a Nile cruise. Orange is a strong second with its own competitive tourist bundles.

Hotspot tethering is supported across the metered sellers here, which matters more than it sounds when data is this expensive — one 3GB plan shared to a partner's phone beats two 1GB plans on price and on flexibility.

No eSIM reaches the Western Desert beyond Siwa, the Luxor–Abu Simbel road stretches, the Sinai interior mountains, or Red Sea offshore dive sites. Those have no signal on any network.

What eSIMCard still does that nobody else does

eSIMCard is the only one of the six sellers on this site that publishes the host network at all. We read that directly: its Japan page names three Japanese operators against its plans, in a Supported Countries & Networks block. Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name no operator in any country, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. That is a genuine difference, and the price check left it untouched.

For Egypt we hold no read of its listing, and the pair our data carried came from our own generated text. Given that Egypt is one of the most expensive markets on this site and Vodafone Egypt's reach along the Nile is a real advantage, its own listing is worth opening.

Verdict

We have no Egyptian price for eSIMCard and will not print one until its catalogue can be stored honestly. That is a gap in our records rather than a judgement on the shop.

Egypt is expensive for data whoever you buy from, which makes the verified table above worth reading carefully — and makes a local prepaid SIM at about $8 from the airport, with a passport needed to register, a serious alternative. The full comparison is on the Egypt hub.
