eSIM Go for Egypt: nothing on sale, and nothing that held up

What we can confirm

One thing, and it settles the page. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers rather than to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout — the button says Contact Sales — and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.

So there is no Egyptian product to review. You cannot buy one, and the earlier instruction on this page to check eSIM Go's own Egypt product page before buying pointed at a page that does not exist. Our eSIM Go platform page sets out the full finding.

What we removed

The price. Our Egypt data set contains checked plans from Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly, and no pricing at all for eSIMCard, whose rows were withdrawn after we read its site — and nothing for eSIM Go, because there is no consumer price to hold.

The network. An earlier version of this page named two Egyptian carriers for eSIM Go. That came from this site's own generated corpus; eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could name a carrier, and the claim has gone.

The hotspot tick. The page opened by crediting eSIM Go with allowing tethering where Holafly does not. That came from the same corpus and was never checkable. The Holafly half stands: it does not permit tethering, which matters if you work off a laptop.

The network question, unresolved

Which Egyptian network you attach to matters here in a way it does not in, say, Denmark. Vodafone has the widest nationwide coverage and the most reliable 4G in tourist areas — including Luxor, Aswan, Sinai and the Red Sea resorts — and it is the network people rate for staying connected on a Nile cruise. Orange is a real competitor rather than a fallback. Egypt's national average mobile speed is around 28 Mbps, and coverage thins fast outside the Nile corridor and the resort strips.

One seller publishes host networks at all, and that is eSIMCard — we read it doing so on its Japan page. Its Egyptian listing is one we have not read, and the carriers our own data held against its Egyptian rows came from this site's generated text, so they have gone with the prices. Airalo, Nomad and Saily publish no host network anywhere. Holafly used to be named here as the second one. It should not have been — going through its Egypt pages on 18 August 2026 to read its prices established that it publishes no host carrier for Egypt or for any country, and the pair we had against it came from our own data. If the network is the deciding factor for your trip, that is an argument for a local SIM.

What no eSIM fixes: the Western Desert and Sahara interior beyond Siwa, the road stretches between Luxor and Abu Simbel, the Sinai interior mountains, and Red Sea offshore dive sites, which have no signal on any network.

What it has to beat

These are the priced options for Egypt. Airalo's figure was read from its own site on 13 August 2026, Nomad's from nomadesim.com on 17 August 2026 and Holafly's from esim.holafly.com on 18 August 2026; the rest are indicative.

On per-GB value, Nomad's verified 20GB at $37 works out at $1.85 a gigabyte, the best rate in the country. Those are the numbers to hold any Egyptian eSIM against, including one sold by a brand you have not heard of.

Verdict

There is no eSIM Go plan to buy in Egypt, and nothing this page once claimed for it survived checking — not the price, not the carriers, not the tethering. It is a supplier to other brands rather than a shop, so it is not one of your options.

Your options are Nomad, whose Egyptian prices we have now read at source and whose verified 20GB month at $37 is the best rate in the country, and eSIMCard, which has a real storefront but no price we can publish — ours were wrong and its catalogue does not fit our records.
