Da Nang data: a month here is a different purchase from a week

The city that gets bought by the month

Most Vietnamese city pages are written for people passing through for four nights. Da Nang is the exception. It is the country's remote-work base of choice — Danang Coworking, Toong and a long line of beachside cafes with fast wifi — and a meaningful share of visitors are here for thirty days or ninety rather than four.

That does not change coverage, which is good across the city and along My Khe and Non Nuoc beaches. It changes what you should buy, and it is the only Vietnamese city where the answer is worth working out properly. Prices are national; the Vietnam hub has the full table.

The long-stay arithmetic

If you are working from cafes and a coworking desk, wifi carries the heavy lifting — video calls, syncing, uploads. Mobile data is the gap-filler: hotspotting when the cafe wifi drops mid-call, maps, tethering on a scooter day out. That usage pattern is metered, not unlimited.

The numbers back it up. Airalo's Xin Chao 50 GB over 30 days is $49, read off its checkout on 13 August 2026, which works out at $0.98 a gigabyte. That is no longer the cheapest verified rate we hold for Vietnam, as this page used to say: Nomad's 50 GB at $39 was read at source on 17 August 2026 and comes in at $0.78. Its 30-day unlimited is $69. You would have to get through more than 70 GB in the month before unlimited was the better buy, and if you are sitting on wifi most of the day you will not.

For a normal week's holiday here, ignore all of that: 5 GB over 7 days at a verified $10 is the plan.

Where the signal actually drops

Three specifics, none of them in the city itself.

Marble Mountains. Signal at the base is fine. Inside the cave temples and the tunnel passages it is reduced, which is worth knowing if you have arranged to meet someone at a particular pagoda inside the complex.

Son Tra Peninsula. Good coverage on the main road round Monkey Mountain. Limited on the forest trails off it. If you are riding up there, screenshot the route rather than trusting a live map.

The beaches. My Khe and Non Nuoc both have good signal. No preparation needed.

Typhoon season is the local variable

Central Vietnam's typhoon season runs October to November and can cause temporary network disruptions. This is the one Da Nang-specific reason to have a fallback: an outage during a storm is not something a different provider fixes, so the useful preparation is offline maps, downloaded booking confirmations, and not assuming you can look up a rescheduled flight while the weather is doing its worst.

Buy for the circuit, not for the city

Da Nang is thirty minutes from Hội An and two hours from Huế, and most people treat it as the base for all three. There is no reason to buy separate data for each stop — one Vietnamese plan covers the whole central circuit, and the only decision is how many days and how many gigabytes.

The network question that dominates our Vietnam hub — Viettel's advantage in the northern mountains and out on Ha Long Bay — does not apply here. Central Vietnam's coastal cities are well covered on every network in our data. If the central circuit is your trip, take the cheapest plan with enough data and do not think about carriers.
