Airalo in the UK: two packages, one of them quietly dearer

Read the package name before you read the price

Airalo lists the United Kingdom as two products, Uki Mobile and Uki Mobile+, and they appear in the same list at the same allowances. If you see two prices for the same size, you are looking at two different products rather than a mistake.

What we cannot tell you is what the plus package adds. Airalo publishes the names and the prices; it does not publish a specification for the difference, and we are not going to invent one. Treat the second column as a product you should only buy deliberately — the premium runs from a dollar at the smallest size to $15 at the largest, which is 38 per cent more for the same 50GB over the same 30 days.

A note on the old version of this page: it advertised an annual Airalo plan for the UK. No such plan exists. Airalo's UK range tops out at 50GB for 30 days, and it does not sell anything valid for a year here.

The 50GB plan is the one worth crossing the room for

Uki Mobile at 50GB over 30 days works out at 78 cents a gigabyte. That is the cheapest data of any plan we hold for the United Kingdom, from any provider, and it is not close — the next best rates in the market sit above a dollar. No rival sells a 50GB UK plan at all.

Airalo is also the only provider offering real choice on duration. Most of the market sells 30-day plans and nothing else; Uki Mobile sells 5GB over 7, 15 or 30 days at $12, $12.50 and $13. If your trip is a week, you can buy a week's validity and pay less for it.

The middle of the range is where it loses

At the popular 30-day sizes, Airalo's verified UK prices are matched or beaten by everyone.

Saily undercuts Airalo by exactly one cent at every shared size, which is a pricing decision rather than a saving — ignore it and choose on other grounds. The eSIM Go column is not a set of offers. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers and publishes no consumer price — checked on esim-go.com on 18 August 2026, where there is no basket, no checkout and no per-country page — so its rows cannot be bought or ever verified. On unlimited plans Airalo does better. Uki Mobile sells unlimited at $11.50 for three days, $18.50 for five, $27 for seven and $69 for thirty, all verified. Holafly's indicative unlimited pricing is above Airalo at every duration the two share. What Holafly has that Airalo does not is a one-day plan and anything longer than a month.

Network: there is nothing to tell you

Airalo does not publish a host network for the United Kingdom, and it does not publish one anywhere else either. "Uki Mobile" is Airalo's own product name, not a carrier — it is the label on the checkout page, and reading it as a British operator is a mistake we have seen made on other sites.

So we cannot tell you whether an Airalo UK eSIM lands on EE, O2, Vodafone or Three. Neither can anyone else without a source. If a recommendation you are reading turns on which of the four a travel eSIM uses, that recommendation has nothing underneath it.

What is worth planning around is where UK coverage is thin regardless of provider: the Scottish Highlands and islands, especially the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland; rural Wales; the North Yorkshire Moors; parts of Cornwall; remote Lake District valleys; and the interiors of old stone buildings.

Hotspot tethering is supported on Airalo's UK plans, so a laptop can share the connection. As with every travel eSIM here, it is data only — no UK number, so no SMS verification codes.

The rival Airalo cannot answer

The UK is one of the easiest countries in the world to buy a local prepaid SIM: no identification is required, and you walk out with it working. A tourist SIM costs around $10 at the airport.

Against that, Airalo's small plans are not obviously a bargain. The eSIM's case here is that it is live before you land — not that it is cheaper.

Verdict

Buy Uki Mobile at 50GB if you are here for a month and use data heavily; nothing in the UK market gets near 78 cents a gigabyte. Buy the short-duration 5GB or 10GB plans if your trip is a week, because almost nobody else sells a week. Skip the 10GB and 20GB 30-day plans, where Nomad's verified pricing is several dollars cheaper. And buy Uki Mobile+ only if you know something we don't about what the plus is for.
