eSIMCard in the UK: the cut-price unlimited month has gone from our data

One row, and it has gone

We held exactly one eSIMCard plan for the United Kingdom: unlimited data over thirty days, at a price roughly a fifth of what every other seller charges for the same thing. It carried an indicative label, meaning our figure rather than one read off a checkout.

That row has now been withdrawn, along with the other 77 eSIMCard rows on this site. It is out of the table here and out of every ranking.

The distinction matters. Indicative implies a number that might be roughly right. On 18 August 2026 we read eSIMCard's own pages and found the figures we were carrying did not match what it sells — the entry plan our data priced identically in fifteen unrelated countries goes for well under half of it on its Japanese page. A price a fifth of the market rate was always more likely to be an error than a bargain, and that is what it turned out to be.

We could not put the right prices in their place either. Our records hold a plan as four things — provider, size, days, price — and eSIMCard's catalogue does not resolve to four things. A Standard/Universal toggle swaps its whole range between two product lines, each plan carries a speed-limit flag that only appears inside its own details modal, and the carrier list varies from plan to plan. One price per size would have merged a throttled plan and a full-speed one into a single row. Our eSIMCard page sets out the full reasoning.

What an eSIM for UK actually costs

Airalo and Saily were read on 13 August 2026, Nomad on 17 August 2026. Airalo's dearer Uki Mobile+ package charges more for the same sizes.

Uncapped is where the withdrawn row sat, and the verified market is nowhere near it: Airalo's uncapped month is $69.00 and Holafly's is $73.90, with shorter windows from $11.50 and $11.90 respectively. Nomad's verified uncapped plans run $11 for three days to $33 for ten.

There is a general point worth carrying to any checkout: "unlimited" in this market usually means a daily full-speed allowance, after which the connection is throttled for the rest of the day. Sellers differ in how large that allowance is and how hard the throttle bites, and the terms are on the product page rather than in anyone's price table.

Network and coverage

eSIMCard is the only one of the six sellers on this site that publishes the host network at all. We read that directly: its Japan page names three Japanese operators against its plans, in a Supported Countries & Networks block. Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name no operator in any country, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. That is a genuine difference, and it came through the price check untouched.

For the United Kingdom we hold no confirmed carrier for eSIMCard and will not name one from our own records. Earlier copy on this page named four British operators as though eSIMCard ran across all of them; there was no source for that, and it has gone.

The rest of the field publishes nothing at all. Airalo, Saily, Nomad and Holafly name no UK operator — the carriers our data once held against Holafly's rows came from our own older text — and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could, since it sells wholesale to resellers with no checkout and no consumer price. UK coverage weaknesses apply whoever you buy from: the Scottish Highlands and islands, especially the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland; rural Wales; the North York Moors; parts of Cornwall; remote Lake District valleys; and inside old stone buildings.

The comparison every UK eSIM has to beat

Buying a prepaid SIM in Britain takes no identification and no paperwork — you pay, and it works. Around $10 at the airport gets you a tourist SIM with a UK number attached.

That is the real benchmark here, and it is why the British market is a hard one for travel eSIMs generally. An eSIM is more convenient, it is live before you land, and it needs no counter. It is rarely cheaper.

Verdict

We have no eSIMCard price for the United Kingdom and will not print one until its catalogue can be stored properly. That is a gap in our records, not a judgement on the seller: eSIMCard is a real shop with a working checkout and a far wider range than the single row we published, and it is the only seller here that tells you which network a plan uses.
