Nomad in the UK: the broadest range, best on short unlimited

Nine plans, two shapes

Every figure was read from Nomad's own site on 17 August 2026. An earlier version of this page listed seven plans on prices nobody had checked, and two of them were wrong at the top of the metered ladder. Airalo's and Saily's prices here were read off the sellers' sites on 13 August 2026.

That mix is unusual. Most UK sellers pick a lane — Holafly sells only unlimited, Saily only metered plans. Nomad covers both, which makes it the easiest single provider to buy from if you are not sure yet what you need.

The unlimited plans are the strongest thing here

At three days, Nomad's $11 is the cheapest unlimited plan in our UK data, just under Airalo's verified $11.50 for the same three days.

At five days it is $18 against Airalo's $18.50, at seven $25 against $27, and at ten $33 against Airalo's $34.50 and Holafly's indicative $36.90. Nomad is the cheapest unlimited we hold at every length it sells, though the margins are thin against Airalo.

One caveat. Unlimited across this market normally means a daily full-speed allowance followed by throttling — our record for Nomad notes exactly that, a throttle once the daily limit is reached, though we do not hold what the limit is. Read the terms if you intend to tether all day.

The metered ladder: better than some, beaten by one

Against the two providers whose UK prices we have verified, Nomad wins on price at every shared size.

A dollar at 5GB, about $1.50 at 10GB and $6 at 20GB. All three columns are now checked prices, so the comparison is like for like.

Earlier versions of this page put a problem here: eSIM Go's UK figures are lower again, $14 at 10GB against Nomad's $17.50 and $22 at 20GB against $25, and we told you to check them first if price was all that mattered. That has been withdrawn. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers and publishes no consumer price — checked on esim-go.com on 18 August 2026, where there is no basket, no checkout and no per-country page — so its rows cannot be bought or ever verified. Where the range stops

Nomad's ceiling is 20GB, at $1.25 a gigabyte. The UK market goes further: Airalo's verified Uki Mobile 50GB is $39 over 30 days, which is 78 cents a gigabyte — comfortably the cheapest data in the country, and a size no rival offers.

At the other end, Nomad's 1GB plan over seven days at $4.50 is not the cheapest entry either, though the gap is measured in pennies against Saily and in duration against Airalo, whose verified 1GB runs three days rather than seven.

Network and coverage

Nomad does not publish a host network for the United Kingdom, and our data holds none. We cannot tell you whether it lands on EE, O2, Vodafone or Three, and neither can anyone else who has not asked Nomad directly. The same blank sits against Airalo, Saily and Holafly — the UK carriers our data once held against Holafly's rows came from our own older text rather than from Holafly. We hold no read of eSIMCard's UK listing, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could publish one.

So network is not a lever you can pull when choosing here. What is worth planning around is where British coverage is genuinely weak, whoever you buy from: the Scottish Highlands and islands, in particular the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland; rural Wales; the North Yorkshire Moors; parts of Cornwall; remote Lake District valleys; and the interiors of thick-walled old buildings.

Hotspot tethering is supported on Nomad's UK plans, which pairs usefully with the unlimited products. There is no UK number, so SMS verification codes will not arrive.

The local option

Britain sells prepaid SIMs with no identification required and no registration to complete — pay and go. A tourist SIM is roughly $10 at the airport and comes with a UK number, which no eSIM here does.

That makes Nomad's 1GB and 3GB plans a harder sell than they would be elsewhere. The eSIM wins on being live before you land, not on price.

Verdict

Buy Nomad for short unlimited: at every duration it sells it is the cheapest we hold. For metered data, Nomad beats both Airalo and Saily at the two commonest sizes, which makes it the cheapest UK metered plan you can actually buy. For anything above 20GB, look at Airalo instead.

The UK hub sets every provider against the others, including the local SIM.
