Holafly in Slovakia: six unlimited plans, and a cheaper rival at every length

Six plans, all unlimited

Holafly does not sell gigabytes for Slovakia. It sells time, and the data is uncapped within it. These prices were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction. This page previously held three Slovak rows — five days at $19, ten at $36.90 and twenty-five at $68.90 — and made much of that 25-day price against Airalo's 30-day unlimited at ten cents more. There is no 25-day plan; Holafly sells 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days in every country. It now competes with Airalo at the month directly, and loses by $4.90.

The shape is unusual for Slovakia. Most providers here sell capped plans, which means Holafly is not really competing on price per gigabyte — it is selling the absence of a meter. Whether that is worth the money depends entirely on how much you would otherwise have used.

Both rivals undercut it at every length

Airalo sells unlimited Slovak plans under its Dobrý deň tier, and Nomad sells four lengths. Both were read at source.

At three days the gap is trivial, 40 cents. At five it is $2.50 against Nomad. At the month it is $4.90 against Airalo. Holafly is last in every row.

So if unlimited is what you want in Slovakia, the honest recommendation is not the provider whose page you are reading. We have no commercial reason to say that and it would be easier not to.

What unlimited costs you against capped data

The wider comparison is worse still. Airalo's verified 10GB plan for Slovakia is $16 for thirty days, and so is Nomad's; Holafly's ten-day unlimited is $36.50. You would need to burn through 10GB inside ten days for the unlimited plan to be the better arithmetic, and most travellers do not — maps, messaging and a few hours of streaming rarely clear 5GB in a week.

At the top end, Airalo's verified 50GB for thirty days costs $36, less than half Holafly's month for a volume most people could not exhaust on holiday. Unlimited in Slovakia is a convenience purchase, not a value one.

What you give up

Holafly's Slovakia plans do not include a phone number, and there are no calls or SMS. That is normal for travel eSIMs — WhatsApp, Signal and the rest work over data — but it matters if a car hire desk or a hotel wants to text you a code.

The source we hold also lists these plans as not supporting hotspot tethering, and describes that as a restriction rather than a setting you can switch on. We have not confirmed it against Holafly's own terms, so check it at checkout, but do check: if you plan to work off a laptop in Bratislava or Košice, a provider that permits tethering is the safer purchase.

On the plus side, no passport is required to buy an eSIM. That is the genuine advantage over a Slovak prepaid SIM, which needs a passport or national ID at registration and costs around $9 at the airport.

Networks and coverage

Holafly's own listing points to no carrier. The T-Mobile SK and Orange pairing this page used to show came from our own dataset rather than from Holafly's site — and one half of it used a brand Slovakia's incumbent stopped trading under years ago, which was a fair clue about its age. Holafly publishes no host network for Slovakia, or for any of the countries we read, so there is nothing here to choose between providers on.

What is worth knowing is where Slovak coverage thins out regardless of who you buy from: the High Tatras ridges above the ski resort areas, remote valley hiking trails, and some eastern border regions. The show caves, Domica and the Ochtinská Aragonite Cave among them, have no signal underground.
