Slovak Telekom SIM card: the Easy prepaid card and eSIM
Slovak Telekom's Easy prepaid card costs 5 euros with 5 euros credit, but the online route requires a Slovak ID card and residence. Visitors are sent to a store.
Is a Slovak Telekom SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
It is a decent choice if you will be in Slovakia for more than a long weekend and can visit a store. A Slovak Telekom SIM card (the T-Mobile brand in Slovakia) is cheap, with no contract, but its online purchase is not open to tourists. Our notes rate Slovak Telekom the widest coverage, including mountain areas, which we could not confirm on its pages.
What does the Easy prepaid card cost?
Slovak Telekom's Easy page (read 8 October 2026) says you pay EUR 5 and get EUR 5 of credit. Pay-as-you-go rates are EUR 0.15 a minute, text, MMS or megabyte, and once you spend EUR 2 in a day, calls, texts and data are free until midnight. There are no monthly fees. Data packages listed are 1 GB for EUR 3, 7 GB for EUR 9, and 12 GB plus 120 minutes for EUR 12, each for 30 days. A daily unlimited option gives 25 GB at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Prices change, so check the page before you go.
There is also a welcome bonus of 10 GB for 30 days after each top-up, up to six times, in a campaign the page says runs until 31 January 2027.
Can a tourist buy Slovak Telekom Easy, and what about eSIM?
Easy comes as a plastic SIM or an eSIM. A new eSIM costs EUR 5, or is free when you port a number, and arrives by email. But the page says to buy an Easy SIM online "you need a Slovak ID card and permanent residence in Slovakia", and that customers from abroad should visit any Telekom store. Online registration involves a photo of the ID and a face scan. The page does not say which foreign document a store accepts, so bring your passport and ask.
What does Slovak Telekom say about coverage?
The page calls its network the fastest and award-winning in Slovakia, which is marketing, and does not mention 5G. A coverage map is linked in the footer. Check it for High Tatras trails and rural routes. Slovak Telekom pages also mention EU roaming on the same terms as in Slovakia, subject to fair use.
Slovak Telekom SIM card or a travel eSIM?
A travel eSIM can be bought and installed before you leave, with no ID or store visit. The local SIM wins on price for a longer stay or if you need a Slovak number. No travel eSIM provider except eSIMCard publishes its host network. See our Slovakia SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM. Also read Orange Slovakia and O2 Slovakia, and the Slovakia hub.
