Holafly's Czech Republic eSIM, reviewed against the alternatives

What Holafly sells here

Six plans, all unlimited data, all data-only. There are no calls and no SMS, so a Czech number has to be reached over WhatsApp or whatever else the person on the other end uses. These prices were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction, and it takes the whole argument with it. This page used to list a 90-day Czech plan at $99 and told you it was the reason not to simply buy something else — nothing in our data ran past 30 days, and $1.10 a day was under half every other unlimited rate. Holafly sells no 90-day plan, in the Czech Republic or anywhere. It sells 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days and stops. The 25-day plan we also listed does not exist either, and the five- and ten-day prices we printed were $1.50 and 40 cents adrift.

So there is no long-stay case left to make. If you are here for three months, Holafly's answer is a 30-day plan at $73.90 that you buy three times.

Where the range loses

Airalo's and Nomad's Czech unlimited plans were read off their own sites, and they undercut Holafly at every length.

Nomad is cheapest everywhere it sells; Airalo takes the two longest windows. Holafly is the dearest of the three at all six, by 40 cents at three days and by $4.90 at thirty.

The harder question is whether you need unlimited at all. Airalo's verified 50GB over 30 days costs $36, which is 72 cents a gigabyte. That is roughly the price of ten days of Holafly, for a month of validity and an allowance most travellers will not finish — 50GB covers maps, messaging, a heavy social feed and a good deal of streaming. Unlimited earns its premium when you are tethering a laptop all day or watching video on mobile data as a habit, and Holafly rules out the first of those.

The network claim, and the hotspot problem

Holafly's own Czech listing points to no operator at all. The T-Mobile and Vodafone pairing this page used to show — and, in an earlier version, a third Czech operator alongside them — came from our own data rather than from Holafly, which names no carrier for the Czech Republic or for any of the countries we read. Airalo, Saily and Nomad publish none either, so no provider in our Czech data names a host network.

Hotspot is the more consequential limitation. Holafly does not support tethering on these plans. It is a restriction on the product, not a toggle you can find in settings, so if a laptop or a travelling companion needs to share the connection, this is the wrong provider regardless of price.

Who should buy it

On the verified numbers, nobody buying on price. Every Holafly window is available cheaper from Nomad or Airalo, the long-stay plan that justified this page does not exist, and the metered plans cost a fraction for data most visitors will not exhaust.

The local alternative is unusually easy in this country. No ID is required for a Czech prepaid SIM and a tourist SIM at the airport runs about $12, though we do not hold what allowance that buys — ask at the counter before handing over money.
