O2 Czech Republic SIM card: the GO prepaid options
O2's prepaid card is GO. Its page lists day passes and 30-day data packs with EU roaming, but says nothing on eSIM or registration for new cards.
An O2 Czech Republic SIM card is the GO prepaid card, and O2's page has one handy feature for a short stay: a daily data pass. What it does not tell you is whether you can get GO as an eSIM or what a visitor must show to activate it, so those two points need an O2 shop or call before you rely on it.
This is desk research from O2's public prepaid page, read on 8 October 2026. We have not tested the service.
What can a visitor buy with an O2 Czech Republic SIM card?
O2's prepaid page lists, in koruna: GO na den at 99 Kč, with 100 Kč of credit loaded, unlimited calls inside the Czech Republic, 1 GB of data a day and a 29 Kč daily charge on days you use it. GO 10 GB is 299 Kč for 30 days with 100 minutes of calls, 10 GB of data and EU roaming. Data naplno is 49 Kč for unlimited data for 24 hours, and it can only be switched on in the Moje O2 app. The page marks this one with 5G speeds.
Credit lasts six months for top-ups under 500 Kč and twelve months for 500 Kč or more. The card stays valid for 12 months after the last top-up, and the minimum self top-up is 300 Kč. Top-up channels include the app, O2 stores, internet banking, ATMs and Czech Post branches.
Is an O2 prepaid eSIM available?
The page links to an eSIM section but does not say whether GO is available as an eSIM, so we cannot confirm an O2 prepaid eSIM. It also gives no sales channels for the card beyond "Chci GO kartu" order buttons and a store list link.
Do you have to register an O2 SIM?
The page does not state any activation or registration requirement for a new card. It mentions ID only for a credit refund after porting a number, where O2 copies the ID in a store. Because Czech rules may still apply, ask in an O2 shop with your passport in hand.
What does O2 say about coverage?
The page links to a "Naše 5G síť" page and a coverage map but gives no percentages. We therefore cannot confirm claims that O2 has the fastest 5G in Prague. Check the map for your route, then read the roaming lines: calls to EU countries cost 5.40 Kč a minute and SMS 1.70 Kč, and outside the EU data is charged per megabyte unless you buy a package.
How does it compare with a travel eSIM in the Czech Republic?
An O2 Czech Republic SIM card gives you a local number and day passes, but may need a shop visit and possibly ID. A travel eSIM installs before you fly and needs no local top-up. Our Czech Republic SIM card comparison puts the choices side by side, and cheapest eSIM covers data-only plans. We do not name the local network behind travel eSIMs, because most providers do not publish it.
The other Czech carriers in this series are T-Mobile and Vodafone. The Czech Republic hub links the rest, including Prague Airport.
Common questions

It can be, mainly because of the Data naplno day pass at 49 Kč for 24 hours of unlimited data, switched on in the Moje O2 app. The page does not say whether you can get it as an eSIM or what ID you need, so check in an O2 shop.
How much is an O2 prepaid SIM?
On 8 October 2026 O2's page showed GO na den at 99 Kč with 100 Kč credit and GO 10 GB at 299 Kč for 30 days, with EU roaming. Prices change and the page sets a 300 Kč minimum self top-up, so confirm on O2's site.
Can I get an O2 eSIM as a tourist?
O2's prepaid page links to an eSIM section but does not say whether the GO prepaid card is offered as an eSIM. We could not confirm it, so ask O2 or look at the eSIM page before you count on it. A travel eSIM is the fallback.
Does an O2 SIM work in the EU?
O2 lists EU roaming on GO 10 GB, and charges 5.40 Kč a minute for calls to EU countries and 1.70 Kč per SMS from the card. Outside the EU it sells separate Svet roaming packages. Read the roaming section before travelling onward.
Do I need ID to buy an O2 SIM card?
The prepaid page does not mention any ID or registration for a new card. ID is mentioned only for refunds after porting a number. Because the page is silent rather than clear, bring your passport and ask at the O2 shop.
