What Holafly sells in Croatia

Six plans, all unlimited data, no capped options at all.

These figures were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026. Those six windows are the entire range — Holafly sells 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days in every country, and nothing else.

A correction. This page previously listed three Croatian plans: five days at $19, ten at $36.90 and twenty-five at $68.90. The 25-day plan does not exist, and the other two prices came from our own generated dataset rather than from Holafly. Five days actually costs $20.50.

No calls or SMS are included on any of them. That is normal for travel eSIMs and rarely a problem — WhatsApp, Signal and the rest work over data — but it does mean you cannot ring a Croatian ferry office or an apartment host who only answers a phone.

No hotspot, and that is the deciding factor for some people

The listing we hold for Holafly Croatia says hotspot tethering is not supported. If you travel with a laptop, a tablet or a companion whose phone you were planning to share the connection with, that single line rules it out — an unlimited plan you cannot share is worth much less than it sounds.

If you need to tether, look at the capped plans below instead. Airalo's 20GB for 30 days at $25.50 costs less than Holafly's ten-day plan, and 20GB is a lot of data for two weeks of maps, messaging and the occasional video call.

How the price actually compares

Croatia has a well-supplied eSIM market and Holafly does not win any of it. Airalo's and Nomad's unlimited plans were read off their own sites.

Holafly is the dearest uncapped plan in Croatia at all six lengths. At five days Nomad's $18 undercuts it by $2.50; an earlier version of this page called that length a dead heat, on a Holafly price that was $1.50 too low. At ten days Holafly costs $7 more than Airalo. At thirty it costs $14.90 more — a quarter again on top for the same product.

Against capped data the gap widens further. Nomad's checked 50GB for thirty days is $31 and Airalo's is $35, both well under half the price of Holafly's month. Unless you genuinely expect to burn through 50GB — heavy video streaming, or tethering a working laptop all day, which you cannot do here anyway — the capped plan is the better deal by a distance. At the cheap end, Saily's 1GB for seven days is $3.99 and Airalo's 1GB for three days is $4, both checked.

The network claim, and why we will not lean on it

Holafly's own listing points to no carrier for Croatia, or for any other country. The HT, A1 and Telemach trio this page used to show came from our own older data rather than from Holafly, and no part of our verdict rested on it.

That scepticism is not aimed at Holafly in particular. Nobody in this market publishes host networks we can check: Airalo, Saily and Nomad publish none at all, anywhere. If you want certainty about which network you are on, the only reliable route in Croatia is a local prepaid SIM from A1 Hrvatska or Telemach, around $11 at the airport, with your passport for registration.

What is true regardless of provider is where Croatian coverage thins out: remote inland Lika and Gorski Kotar, some of the smaller offshore islands, the Velebit and Dinaric mountain areas away from the main paths, and the deeper forest trails at Plitvice Lakes. A three-network claim does not fix any of that.

Verdict

Holafly is hard to recommend for Croatia. It is the most expensive unlimited plan at every length we can compare, it has no capped plans for people who do not need unlimited, and it will not let you tether. The five-day dead heat this page used to describe was an artefact of a price that was too low by $1.50.

One situation still stands: if you have used Holafly before, know its app and its support, and would rather pay $2 to $15 extra than learn another provider's, that is a legitimate reason. It is not a price argument, and this page no longer makes one on Holafly's behalf.

One genuine advantage: no passport is needed to buy an eSIM, unlike the local SIM, which must be registered against ID. And if you are travelling from elsewhere in the EU, your home plan already roams in Croatia at domestic rates and you should buy nothing at all.
