Holafly in Slovenia: unlimited data, but not the cheapest

What Holafly sells in Slovenia

Six plans, all unlimited data, nothing capped and nothing small. These prices were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction. This page previously listed three Slovenian plans, including a 25-day at $68.90 that it compared against Airalo's 30-day unlimited. Holafly sells no 25-day plan, here or anywhere — its range is 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days — and the two other prices we printed were low by $1.50 and 40 cents.

The absence at the bottom of that table matters as much as the prices in it. There is no cheap Holafly entry plan for Slovenia. The lowest price of admission is $11.90 for three days, where the market's cheapest entry is a verified $4.49 for 1GB over a week from Saily. For a weekend of maps and messaging, Holafly is not in the running.

Both rivals' unlimited is cheaper at every duration

Forty cents at three days is noise. $4.50 at ten days is not, nor is $5.50 at fifteen or $4.90 at thirty. Holafly is the dearest uncapped plan in Slovenia at every length it sells.

And a capped plan beats both

Before buying unlimited anything in Slovenia, look at the top of the capped ladder. Airalo's verified 50GB over 30 days is $42 — $0.84 per GB, the cheapest bulk data in the country. That is $31.90 less than Holafly's unlimited month, for the same thirty days.

To make unlimited the better buy, you have to burn more than 50GB inside a month: 1.7GB a day, every day, which is a streaming habit rather than a travel one. Slovenia is also a small country with good wifi in Ljubljana's cafés and most Bled guesthouses, which makes 50GB harder to spend than it sounds.

The case for Holafly is not really price, then. It is that you never think about a meter. That is worth something — just not $31.90, and not when two other providers sell the identical uncapped product for less.

Two restrictions to check before you buy

Holafly's Slovenia plans do not support hotspot tethering. Unlimited data you cannot share is a narrower product than it appears: no laptop, no travelling companion, no tablet. If tethering matters, a capped plan is the safer purchase — Nomad's verified 20GB month is $20, less than Holafly's five days of unlimited.

There are also no calls or SMS. Messaging apps cover most of it, but a Slovenian number is genuinely useful for mountain huts, hire desks and small guesthouses that call rather than email — and for that you want the local prepaid SIM, about $12 at the airport from A1 Slovenija, Telekom Slovenije or Telemach. It costs you a passport check at registration, which no eSIM requires.

Network, coverage, and whether to buy at all

Holafly's own listing names no carrier for Slovenia. The A1, Telekom and Telemach trio our data carried came out of older generated copy rather than from Holafly, which publishes no host network here or in any of the countries we read. Airalo, Saily and Nomad publish none either, so there is nothing on this front to weigh.

It is worth saying because Slovenia's coverage gaps are physical rather than commercial: dead zones at ridge altitude near the Triglav summit, remote valley trails far from roads, and no signal at all underground in the Postojna and Škocjan caves. Unlimited data does not help in any of them.

And if you hold an EU or EEA SIM, roam-like-at-home means you can skip this decision entirely — your domestic allowance works here, subject to your operator's fair-use cap. The Slovenia hub sets every provider we hold against the local SIM.
