Airalo in Singapore: cheap short plans, no network to check

Our Singapore data holds 18 Airalo plans, all read off Airalo's own checkout on 13 August 2026. That is worth stating because the previous version of this page quoted four plans with durations that don't match what is actually sold — it listed the entry plan as a week, when the $4 gigabyte runs three days.

Unlimited is sold by duration: $11.50 for three days, $18.50 for five, $27 for seven, $34.50 for ten, $48 for 15 and $69 for 30. Hotspot sharing is supported. No plan includes calls or texts.

Sized for a stopover

Singapore produces more two- and three-night trips than almost anywhere, because half its visitors are changing planes at Changi and stepping into the city for a day or two. Airalo's short plans fit that better than most of its rivals' month-long blocks: 1 GB over three days at $4, or 3 GB over three days at $6.50 if you are navigating and posting rather than just checking messages.

How much you need is genuinely lower here than elsewhere. Free wi-fi is everywhere — hotels, malls, the MRT, and the public Wireless@SGx network — so most visitors offload the bulk of their usage without thinking about it. For MRT navigation, Grab and restaurant apps, 1–2 GB covers a week. Video calls, streaming and heavy social use push that to 3–5 GB. Ten gigabytes a month is comfortable for someone actually working here.

Where the value runs out

At 5 GB for 30 days, Airalo's verified $10 is the cheapest we hold for Singapore at that size — the nearest listed rivals are $10.99 and $11, both unverified. That is a genuine win, if a small one.

At 10 GB it disappears. Airalo's verified 10 GB month is $16, and three separate rivals are listed at $15.99 or $16 for the same thing. The differences are cents, and the only real distinction is that ours is the checked number.

Above that, the per-gigabyte rate improves but Singapore stays expensive by regional standards: the verified 50 GB month costs $48, or $0.96/GB. The same provider's 50 GB month in Portugal is $35. There is no obvious reason for a traveller to buy 50 GB in a country this small and this well covered by wi-fi, and we would treat that plan as one for residents-in-all-but-name rather than visitors.

Unlimited is a closer contest than the metered range. Airalo's five-day unlimited is $18.50 against an indicative $22.90 elsewhere, and its seven-day is $27 against $27.90 — but no Airalo plan matches the one-day unlimited listed at $5.90 by a rival, which is the obvious buy for a single-day layover.

The network claim we removed

The old title of this page said Singtel. That has gone: Airalo does not publish a host network in Singapore, or in any other country, and nothing in our data names one for it. Any page that tells you which Singaporean operator an Airalo eSIM lands on is guessing.

Here, unusually, it barely matters. Singapore is a city-state with four operators and effectively island-wide 4G and 5G, so the coverage arguments that dominate a country like Ireland or Portugal do not apply. There is no rural interior to lose signal in. Choose on price and plan size, which is the honest advice for Singapore whoever you buy from.

Verdict

For a stopover, Airalo is the right pick: the three-day plans are correctly sized and the prices are checked. For a week or a month at 5 GB, it is the cheapest verified option. At 10 GB it is one of four providers within a few cents, so buy on whichever you trust. And compare against a local SIM before you commit — an airport prepaid SIM runs about $12 with no ID required, though we hold no verified figure for how much data that includes.
