Holafly in Norway: unlimited data, priced by the day, with one hard limit

One product, six lengths

Holafly does not sell gigabytes in Norway. It sells days of unlimited data, and the only decision is how many. These prices were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction, and it removes the plan this page recommended. We previously listed seven Norwegian durations, including a one-day plan at $6.90, a 20-day at $49.90 and a 90-day at $99, and singled out that 90-day rate of $1.10 a day as a genuinely low price for unlimited data in an expensive country. Holafly sells none of those lengths. Its whole range is 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days. The four durations that do exist were all underpriced in our table, the month by $9.

We also used to explain a discarded 25-day listing that sat above the 30-day price. That anomaly came from the same bad dataset and there is nothing left of it to explain.

No hotspot, and in Norway that bites

Holafly's Norway product does not support hotspot tethering. This is not a toggle you can find in settings — it is how the plan is sold, and it applies to every length in the table.

Work out what that costs you before anything else. Two people travelling together cannot share one Holafly plan, so the real price doubles. A laptop in a cabin, a tablet on a train, a camera uploading over wifi — none of that works. If you need to tether, check the terms of the plan you buy instead, because none of these providers makes the rule prominent.

There are no calls or SMS either. That is normal for a travel eSIM, and WhatsApp or similar over data covers most of it, but you will not have a Norwegian number for a hotel or a car-hire desk to ring.

Both rivals are cheaper, at every length

This page used to say Holafly came in under Airalo at everything past five days — $29.90 against $34.50 at ten, $64.90 against $69 at thirty. Those Holafly figures were not read from Holafly. On the real ones it is the dearest of the three at all six lengths, and Nomad is cheapest wherever it sells.

Is unlimited worth it here?

Set the 10-day plan at $36.50 against what the same money buys metered. Airalo's verified 20GB for 15 days is $24.50, and its verified 10GB for 15 days is $16. Nomad's verified 20GB for 30 days is $20 and its 50GB month is $45.

So the honest break-even is high. On a 10-day trip you would need to get through well past 20GB before unlimited stops being the expensive option, and most travellers using maps, messaging, some streaming and hotel wifi at night do not get near that. Where it flips is heavy video on the move, or a phone doing all your navigation and music for two weeks of driving — and even then, Nomad sells the same uncapped ten days for $3.50 less.

Coverage, and what nobody will tell you

Holafly's Norway listings name no host carrier. Our data used to show Telenor and Telia against them, with Ice appearing on one row and nothing at all on another, and that inconsistency was a fair sign of where it came from: our own older text, not Holafly, which names no operator for Norway or for any of the countries we read. No other travel eSIM in our Norway data publishes a host network either, so there is nothing here to buy on.

What is not in question is where Norwegian coverage stops, whoever carries you. The mountain plateaus — Hardangervidda and Finnmarksvidda — are thin. So are remote valleys in Sogn og Fjordane and deep fjord side valleys off the main roads. Out at sea, expect nothing beyond roughly 12 km from the coast. Unlimited data is worth nothing where there is no signal, and a ferry day is a ferry day.

Verdict

We would not buy Holafly for Norway. The long-stay plan that made the case does not exist, and at every length that does, Airalo and Nomad sell the same uncapped product for less — Nomad by $0.90 to $3.50, Airalo by up to $4.90.

If you use data the way most people do, a metered plan costs half as much again: $20 for a 20GB month against $73.90 for thirty uncapped days. A local Norwegian prepaid SIM is around $18 at the airport but needs a passport at registration. The full comparison sits on the Norway hub.
