Saily in Norway: the cheapest entry price, and a ladder that now reaches 20GB

Five plans, all now checked

Saily sells a metered ladder of five plans in Norway: one week-long starter and four 30-day plans. No calls or SMS on any of them — messaging runs over data. Hotspot tethering is supported on all plans.

Every price below was read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026. The Airalo prices used as a benchmark were read off Airalo's site on 13 August 2026 and the Nomad prices off Nomad's on 17 August 2026, so this is now a comparison of three checked ladders rather than one guess against two.

Four of the five figures we used to carry were wrong, all of them high, and we did not know the 20GB month existed. They were not readings of Saily's checkout; they came from a generated set that assigned Saily the same round numbers across dozens of countries.

The entry plan is still the best thing here

At $3.99, Saily's 1GB over seven days is the single cheapest row in our entire Norway dataset — cheaper than any plan from Airalo, Nomad or Holafly. See our eSIM Go page.) Airalo's nearest plan is $4.00 for 1GB over three days: a cent more, for less than half the validity.

That is a real fit for a common Norwegian trip. A long weekend in Oslo or Bergen, mostly on wifi at the hotel, using data for maps, transit times, weather and the occasional photo upload. A gigabyte covers that, and seven days gives you room if plans slip.

It also spares you the ID step. A Norwegian physical SIM requires a passport or ID for registration and runs around $18 at the airport, so $3.99 and no paperwork is a straightforward win for a short visit. If you carry an EU or EEA plan, remember Norway is in the EEA and you may already roam here at your domestic rate without buying anything.

Above 1GB the margins are now small

Saily takes 3GB outright. At 5GB Airalo is 49 cents cheaper; at 10GB Nomad is $1.99 cheaper; at 20GB Nomad is $7.99 cheaper and that is a real gap. This page used to say Saily's 5GB and 10GB ran about 20% over Airalo's, which was true of the invented $12.99 and $19.99 and is not true of the real $10.99 and $17.99 — those are 5% and 6% over.

Then the ladder stops at 20GB. If you are driving the country for a fortnight, running offline maps, uploading photographs and tethering a laptop in the evenings, Airalo's 50GB over 30 days at $36.00 works out at about 72 cents a gigabyte, half Saily's best unit rate.

What nobody can tell you about coverage

Saily publishes no host network for Norway. It publishes none anywhere: our data holds no operator against a single Saily row in any of the forty-eight countries we cover, and where we hold nothing we say so rather than guess. Airalo, Nomad and Holafly are in the same position; the Norwegian operators our data once held against Holafly's rows came from our own older text rather than from Holafly, which names no carrier in any country.

In Norway that gap is worth taking seriously. Coverage here is genuinely uneven: the mountain plateaus of Hardangervidda and Finnmarksvidda, remote valleys in Sogn og Fjordane, deep fjord side valleys away from the main roads, and open sea beyond about 12km from the coast. Which operator a plan sits on can change whether you have signal in those places, and with Saily you cannot find out before you buy. If your trip is city-based, this is academic. If it involves hiking, driving the fjord roads or going north, download offline maps regardless of what you buy.

Verdict

Buy Saily's 1GB week for a short city trip — it is the cheapest thing on the board in Norway and the validity is generous for the money. Its 3GB month at $7.99 is also the cheapest of its size.

From 5GB up the answer is somebody else, but only just: Airalo at 5GB by 49 cents, Nomad at 10GB by $1.99 and at 20GB by $7.99. For a heavy trip, Airalo's 50GB at $36.00 is the only sensible rate in the country.
