Nomad for Norway: cheapest in the middle, beaten at both ends
Nomad sells ten Norway plans, six metered and four unlimited, and every price was read off Nomad's own site on 17 August 2026. The figures this page previously ran on were wrong, and the recommendation that came out of them was wrong at the top of the range.

What this page used to say
An earlier version of this review described Nomad's Norway range as four plans, all thirty days long, running from 5 GB at $9 — the real price is $12.50 — to 50 GB at $29, which is really $45, and it recommended Nomad to anyone wanting 20 GB or more on the strength of a claimed $0.58 a gigabyte at the top.
Almost none of that was right. Nomad sells ten Norway plans, not four. The range starts at 1 GB, not 5 GB. Four of the plans are unlimited and priced by the day, so the page's claim that Nomad has no unlimited option was false too. And Nomad's 50 GB month costs $45, not $29, which puts it $9 above Airalo rather than $7 below.
When we started checking the prices this site was originally built on, roughly nine in ten were wrong. These were among them. Every figure below was read off nomadesim.com on 18 August 2026.

Read down the last two columns and the shape is a bulge, not a slope. Airalo is cheaper at 1, 3 and 5 GB. Nomad is cheaper at 10 GB by a dollar, and at 20 GB its $20.00 undercuts Airalo's $25.50. Then at 50 GB it loses by $9.
That last step is the odd one. Nomad's per-gigabyte rate falls steadily from $4.50 to $1.00 as you climb from 1 GB to 20 GB, and then barely moves — 50 GB is $0.90 a gigabyte, a ten-cent improvement for $25 more money. Airalo's ladder keeps falling to $0.72. If you need 50 GB in Norway, the reason to buy Nomad has gone.
Norway's ladder is also not really about Norway. Nomad charges the identical six metered prices in thirteen countries — Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden. That is a tiering policy, not a reflection of what Norwegian wholesale data costs.
Unlimited, where Nomad quietly wins
Nomad does sell unlimited in Norway, priced by the day: $11 for three days, $18 for five, $25 for seven and $33 for ten. Airalo's unlimited plans at the same four lengths are $11.50, $18.50, $27.00 and $34.50. Nomad undercuts Airalo at every one of them, by fifty cents at the short end and by $2 at seven days. Holafly's five-day unlimited is $20.50, and that price is verified.
The saving is small, and the usual arithmetic still applies: $25 of unlimited for a week is only worth it above about 35 GB at Airalo's metered rate. But if you have decided on unlimited, Nomad is the cheapest checked way to buy it here.
Tethering allowed, no network named
Nomad's Norway plans support hotspot tethering, which is the practical difference between one connected device and a family's worth.
On coverage, Nomad publishes no host network for Norway. Neither does Airalo, and neither does Saily. That means you cannot pick your carrier by picking your eSIM, and no recommendation on this page rests on which network you land on, because we do not know.
What is knowable is the country's shape. Norwegian coverage is strong in the cities, along the coast and on the main road network, and predictably weak in four places: the Hardangervidda and Finnmarksvidda plateaus, remote valleys in Sogn og Fjordane, deep fjord side valleys away from main roads, and open water more than about 12 km out. A 50 GB plan does not help on a mountain pass. Download your maps before you leave the tarmac.
Against buying locally
A Norwegian prepaid SIM from Telenor Norway, Telia Norway or Ice costs about $18 at the airport, and registering it requires a passport or ID. Nomad's 10 GB month at $16 is cheaper than that before you count the data, and its 3 GB month at $9 is half the price. Buying an eSIM needs no documents and no counter queue.
The local SIM still wins on one thing: you choose the network, which matters if your route leaves the main roads. And if you carry an EU or EEA phone plan, Norway is inside the EEA and you should buy nothing at all — home-rate roaming already covers you.
Verdict
Buy Nomad in Norway for 10 GB or 20 GB, where it is the cheapest checked plan at the size, or for a short unlimited window, where it undercuts Airalo at all four lengths it sells.
Do not buy Nomad's 50 GB. Airalo's is $36 against Nomad's $45, both prices checked, and that is the single clearest call on this page. Below 5 GB, Airalo is cheaper too. Compare all four sellers on the Norway hub.

Yes. One metered plan runs under a month — 1 GB for 7 days at $4.50 — and the four unlimited plans run 3, 5, 7 and 10 days at $11, $18, $25 and $33. An earlier version of this answer said all Nomad's Norway plans lasted 30 days and started at 5 GB for $9; that was wrong on both counts, and the 5 GB month is $12.50. For a weekend on maps alone, Airalo's verified 1 GB for 3 days at $4 is fifty cents cheaper.
Can I tether a laptop to a Nomad Norway eSIM?
Yes, hotspot tethering is supported on Nomad's Norway plans. That makes the 20 GB month at $20 a reasonable option for two people sharing one connection.
