Nomad in the Netherlands: the best mid-range value here
We used to hold two Nomad plans for the Netherlands. Nomad's own site lists ten, and two of them are the cheapest in the country at their size: 10GB for $16 and 20GB for $20, both well under the verified Airalo and Saily equivalents.

An earlier version of this page held two Nomad plans, described them as indicative, and warned that Nomad's live page might list more. It does. Every price below was read off Nomad's own site on 17 August 2026.

There is an unlimited ladder too: $11 for three days, $18 for five, $25 for seven and $33 for ten.
Both of the plans we used to carry were wrong. The 1GB week is $4.50, not $4.00; the 3GB month is $9.00, not $8.00. The bigger error was the omission — four metered sizes and four unlimited ones missing, including the two plans that turn out to be the best buys in the country at their size.
Hotspot tethering is supported on Nomad's Dutch plans, which is not universal in this market — Holafly blocks tethering on its plans in several other countries, so it is worth confirming rather than assuming.
Where Nomad wins: 10GB and 20GB
This is the part an earlier version of this page could not see, because it did not hold the plans. Saily and Airalo price the Dutch mid-range a penny apart — $17.99 and $18.00 at 10GB, $26.99 and $27.00 at 20GB, all four verified. Nomad's verified prices for the same allowances over the same 30 days are $16.00 and $20.00.
At 10GB that is a two-dollar saving. At 20GB it is seven dollars, and it takes the rate down to $1.00 a gigabyte against $1.35 — the best mid-range value anyone sells in the Netherlands. If you are staying a fortnight or working from a laptop for a week, that 20GB month is the plan to buy.
The small end is the other way round. Nomad's 3GB month at $9.00 is a dollar above Saily's verified $7.99 for the same allowance and window, and its 5GB month at $12.50 is $2.50 above Saily's $9.99 and Airalo's $10.00. This page previously said Nomad's 3GB month lost to Saily by a single cent; the real gap is a dollar. For a light month, Saily is the buy.
Where it slips
Per gigabyte, Nomad's small plan is poor: $4.50 for 1GB works out at $4.50 a gigabyte, the dearest 1GB in our Dutch data. That is not really a Nomad failing — every provider's 1GB plan is expensive per unit. Saily's verified 1GB over seven is $3.99, and Airalo's verified 1GB over three days is $4.00. The fix for a bad per-gigabyte rate is buying a bigger plan, not a different brand.
The other slip is at the top. Nomad's 50GB month is $45.00, or 90 cents a gigabyte, against Airalo's verified $36.00 for the same allowance at 72 cents. That is a nine-dollar penalty for the one size where Nomad is not the cheapest option, and it means the country's per-gigabyte floor belongs to Airalo rather than to Nomad.
Neither is it competitive with simply not buying an eSIM. A Dutch physical SIM needs no ID, so it is an instant purchase, and airport prices run around $18. If you carry an EU or EEA plan, you already roam here at your domestic rate and should buy nothing at all.
Network and coverage
Nomad publishes no host network for the Netherlands. Our data used to list KPN / Odido against its Dutch plans; that came from our own records rather than from Nomad, and it has been removed. Airalo and Saily publish no host network for any country either, so this is not a comparison you can run at all.
It matters less here than almost anywhere. The Netherlands is flat, small and densely populated, and there are virtually no coverage gaps that affect a tourist. The exceptions are minor: some of the North Sea Wadden Islands are patchier, and the interior of the Hoge Veluwe forest is weaker. Those are geography, and they apply to whichever network you end up on.
Verdict
Nomad's case in the Netherlands is stronger than this page used to make it, and it rests on different plans. Buy the 20GB month at $20 for a fortnight or a working week — at $1.00 a gigabyte nothing else here comes close — or the 10GB month at $16 for something lighter. Both undercut the verified Airalo and Saily equivalents outright.
For a short trip, a small one, or a heavy one, look elsewhere: Saily's verified $7.99 3GB month beats Nomad's $9.00, and Airalo's verified 50GB at $36 beats Nomad's $45. Which Nomad Netherlands plan is the best value?
The 20GB month at $20.00, which works out at $1.00 a gigabyte — a third less than the $1.35 that Saily and Airalo both charge at that size. The 10GB month at $16.00 is the next best, two dollars under both of them. The 3GB month at $9.00 is not the buy it used to look like: Saily sells the same allowance and window for a verified $7.99.
Which network does Nomad use in the Netherlands?
None that it publishes. An earlier version of this answer said Nomad's listing pointed to KPN and Odido; that came from our own records rather than from Nomad, and Nomad names no carrier for the Netherlands or for any of the 47 countries it sells. Airalo and Saily name none either. Dutch coverage is close to uniform on the mainland regardless of which network a plan sits on.
