Saily in the Netherlands: a price list built one penny below the leader

The line-up

Saily sells a simple metered ladder in the Netherlands: one small short plan and four 30-day plans that step up in capacity. Our data holds no unlimited Saily row for the country. There are no calls or SMS — messaging runs over data, so WhatsApp works and an SMS code to a Dutch number does not. Hotspot tethering is supported on all plans.

We read every price below off Saily's own site on 16 August 2026, so these are verified figures rather than the indicative listings we carried before. Four of the five came down.

The ladder behaves the way you would want: each step up buys a cheaper gigabyte, and the 20GB plan costs about a third the unit rate of the 1GB one. Judged on its own, this is a well-shaped range.

The one-cent undercut

We read Airalo's Netherlands prices off its own site on 13 August 2026. Line them up against Saily's and the pattern is impossible to miss.

Three sizes, one cent apart each time, Saily fractionally ahead at all three. Saily's 3GB / 30 days at $7.99 does the same job to Nomad's verified $9.00, a size Airalo does not sell over thirty days at all. What Saily does not beat is Nomad in the middle: Nomad's verified 10GB and 20GB months at $16 and $20 undercut Saily's $17.99 and $26.99.

Both columns have now been read from the sellers' own sites, so this is a genuine pattern rather than an artefact of one stale number — which is what we would have said a week ago, when our Saily figures were older and much higher. What it is not is a reason to choose. A penny does not change any decision. It tells you these two are watching each other's price lists and competing on brand, and that a page presenting Saily as "the cheaper option" is quoting arithmetic rather than describing a real choice.

Where the undercut stops working

The ladder stops at 20GB, and that is where the argument for Saily runs out.

Saily's largest Dutch plan is 20GB for $26.99, or $1.35 a gigabyte. Airalo's verified 50GB over 30 days is $36.00, or 72 cents a gigabyte. That is $9.01 more for thirty additional gigabytes on the same 30-day validity — the cheapest data in the country by a wide margin, and nothing in Saily's range answers it. If you are staying a month, or working from a laptop, the extra nine dollars is the best-value money on this page and it is not spent with Saily.

Where Saily makes sense

At the small end it is straightforwardly good. Saily's 1GB over seven days at $3.99 is the cheapest week-long small plan in our Dutch data, and Airalo's nearest verified equivalent is $4.00 for 1GB over just three days — same money, less than half the validity.

The 3GB / 30 days at $7.99 is the other one worth knowing about. It is the cheapest 30-day plan on the Dutch board from any provider, and 3GB across a month suits a long, light trip better than any of the seven-day plans around it.

Worth saying plainly, too: in the Netherlands you may not need any of this. A physical Dutch SIM needs no ID, so it is an instant purchase, with airport prices around $18. And anyone on an EU or EEA plan already roams here at their domestic rate and should buy nothing at all.

Network and coverage

Saily publishes no host network for the Netherlands. We read its site on 16 August 2026 and it names no operator — not for the Dutch plans, and not for any country we checked. Our data previously carried a KPN attribution against its two smallest Dutch plans; that came from older generated prose rather than from Saily, and we have removed it. Saily now sits with Airalo in the publishes-nothing column. Holafly went the same way, on the same evidence: the Vodafone Netherlands entry our data carried against its shorter Dutch plans was ours rather than the seller's. Nomad names no operator either, for the Netherlands or anywhere. The carriers our own data carried against eSIMCard's rows here came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, so we no longer repeat them — it is the only one of the six that publishes a host network at all, so its own listing is the place to look.

The practical effect is small. The Netherlands is flat, small and densely populated, with three excellent operators and virtually no coverage gaps that matter to a visitor. Some of the North Sea Wadden Islands are patchier and the interior of the Hoge Veluwe forest is weaker, but that is terrain, and it applies whichever network a plan ends up using. If the Wadden Islands are on your itinerary, a seller that at least names KPN is the marginally safer pick.

Verdict

Saily is now the cheapest verified 30-day plan in the Netherlands at 3GB, 5GB, 10GB and 20GB — by one cent each time, which is worth saying accurately and not worth acting on. Buy its 1GB week or its $7.99 month if either matches the shape of your trip.

Above 20GB there is nothing to discuss: Airalo's verified 50GB at $36.00 is the cheapest data in the country and Saily does not sell anything comparable.
