Odido Netherlands SIM card: the 10 EUR prepaid SIM and the SimWallet travel eSIM

Odido sells a 10 EUR prepaid SIM and, separately, SimWallet, a data-only eSIM that anyone can buy by app. For visitors, SimWallet is the easier route.

An Odido Netherlands SIM card comes in two forms for a visitor, and they are quite different. There is a prepaid plastic SIM, and there is SimWallet, a prepaid data-only eSIM you buy in an app. We read Odido's pages on 8 October 2026. Odido is the name on its site; our records list it as the former T-Mobile Netherlands, which is not something the pages we read say.

Which Odido Netherlands SIM card is easiest for a visitor?

SimWallet. Odido describes it as a prepaid, data-only eSIM with no subscription, usable with any phone that supports eSIM, and you do not need to be an Odido customer. In the Netherlands, prices as listed: 24 hours 2.50 EUR, 7 days 12.50 EUR, 30 days 25.00 EUR, with unlimited data and speeds up to 100/20 Mbit/s per Odido's page. Abroad (more than 140 countries) the bundles are fixed volume: 2 GB from 3.00 EUR for 24 hours, 5 GB from 6.00 EUR for 7 days, and 10, 20 or 40 GB from 10.00 EUR for 30 days. There are no calls or SMS, so use WhatsApp or similar. You buy in the SimWallet app and can install before you travel. One purchase can cover up to six travellers' devices by QR code. The page has some labelling errors in its bundle IDs, so check the price in the app.

Odido Prepaid SIM. One-off 10.00 EUR, which includes 10 EUR of credit, of which only 5 EUR is available after you register through My Odido. Without a bundle, data costs 0.10 EUR per MB, calls 0.20 EUR a minute, SMS 0.15 EUR. Bundles include Unlimited Data Today at 3.50 EUR, 3 Days at 8.50 EUR and Week at 13.50 EUR; Combi bundles start at 10.00 EUR. You order online (delivery within one working day if ordered before 19:30) or collect at an Odido Shop. The page links to an eSIM page but does not describe an eSIM for Prepaid.

Does an Odido prepaid SIM need ID?

Nothing we read says so. The registration FAQ describes linking the SIM to a My Odido account for the 5 EUR credit, and says nothing about ID or a Dutch address. Ask Odido on 0800 0092 if you need to be sure.

Odido Netherlands SIM card coverage and 5G

The prepaid page states a maximum of 100 Mbps for 4G and mentions 5G only for subscriptions, not Prepaid. SimWallet's Dutch bundles run on the Odido network, and abroad it uses a roaming partner without a speed claim. We found no coverage percentage. Our Netherlands notes call Odido world-class, which is an unverified lead, not Odido's claim.

Odido or a travel eSIM?

SimWallet is itself a travel eSIM, with one difference: it is sold by the network operator. That makes it easy to compare with the others on our Netherlands comparison and the cheapest eSIM page. The 7-day price of 12.50 EUR for unlimited data is worth setting against a Dutch trip of a week. The other local options are KPN, which has no prepaid eSIM, and Vodafone Netherlands. The Netherlands hub has the wider guide.

What Odido's pages do not say

ID rules, eSIM for ordinary Prepaid, coverage figures, and whether a foreign payment card works in the app. We have not tested the service.
